This constant current source is designed for the operation of 3-W LED or even LED lights that need to be operated with a constant current.
It has been specifically designed to supply these with a constant current (700 mA), regardless of input voltage (3 – 12 V).
To ensure a long service life with high power LEDs, a constant current is an absolute must.
With a circuit of individual LEDs, it should be noted that these are switched in series.
Connect a minimum of how many LED/lights to this constant current source so that the minimum output voltage of 3 V is achieved. (For 3-W LED that would be a minimum of 1.)
If the number is not reached or no 3 V is decreased, the constant source current can no longer regulate due to the too low load and the LED start to flash.
With this special constant current source, you can supply, for instance, 1 to 3x 3-W LED or LED lights.
In other words, everything that needs a constant current of 700 mA and is operated in the voltage range from 3 – 12 V.
