This was the one I'd been searching for! It's a bit taller than most, not as wide. Perfect fit for the 13 gal trash bags we use. It's very attractive. So far works perfectly. Soft close, easy pedal for opening, easy to clean both inside & out as it has a solid liner (important to me as I like to remove the liner to take outside to wash it out as needed. The price was very reasonable, especially compared to some products which were very pricey - some between $150-200 which is more than I was willing to spend. Solid purchase, looks nice in my very small kitchen.

Looks nice in my kitchen. I like that it has a removable plastic insert, makes it easy to clean. Price was a big seller for me, as I could not justify the cost for a brand name from the brick and mortar store. This does the job for a fraction of the price.

A few months ago, I bought a Glad plastic trash can for my kitchen. Big mistake. The can sucks. It has a step pedal as well and any time you use the pedal it moves the trash can around because it’s plastic. With that being said, I love this Amazon trash can. It’s sturdy and I really like the insert. In our previous trash can, if anything leaked we would have to take the whole can outside and rinse/wash it out. With this one, you can simply remove the insert and wash it out. Much easier. When you step on the pedal it doesn’t move around the can. The lid does have soft close and it seems to be working good so far, if you open the lid all the way it will stay open. The trash bag is not visible from the outside. I will say it isn’t very “smudge proof” but that doesn’t bother me, I just wipe it down every once in a while. Overall so far, 5/5 stars. Not bad price, either.

Needed a new kitchen trash can, this Amazon Basics trash can did not disappoint. Everything about it exceeded my expectations.- High quality components, design, and construction.- Sized as advertised. Very nice trash can! I like the finish and it seems sturdy. I just got it a couple of days ago so I will revisit in a few months if it needs updating for some reason. As an added bonus my cats LOVE the box it arrived in. I was going to take it to the basement and break it down but one of them (I have 2) is parked in it a good bit of the day. Dean, my crazy tuxedo goes nuts in there chasing his tail in there. He has never chased his tail in his life that I know of and I have had them for 9 years. Fun to watch for sure. So I am very happy, I not only got a great new trash can that will help me reorganize my kitchen pantry but also now have new cat entertainment to boot for free. I have included a photo of where it is sitting behind my cabinets with the added bonus of the photobomb by the cat not currently sitting in the box.

Sturdy, works great, has handles on the inner bin to easily remove the trash without getting your hands too dirty. My only complaint is that the lid doesn't open quite as far as I'd like even when stepping as hard as I can on the pedal. It isn't quite straight up, and still handlgs over the can a bit and makes it a little more difficult than need be to remove the trash.
