Love this product line, but this color came out much closer to black than expected on me
I'm East Asian and naturally have dark brown hair. I use Daeng Gi Meo Ri to help cover premature greys and have for a few years now. I usually get natural brown as it is lighter than my natural hair color but dark enough to cover greys, but unfortunately it wasn't available when I was out of my usual and I took a chance on this one.It came out quite a bit closer to black than expected! Picture attached, pardon the messy hair. I would describe my hair as "dark brown" naturally, but this is a few shades darker than that. Not a big problem, but it definitely gave me a bit of a surprise at first. I would also say it runs sliiightly "cooler" than the natural brown and the light brown which my mom uses, which clashes a bit more with my (warm) skin tone. Not the hugest fan of that effect, but again it is not a huge deal.Other than that, this hair dye is always gentle and I love that I can shower after dyeing my hair without worrying about washing the color out. It's a little tricky to apply at first by yourself, but it's also pretty forgiving and even if I accidentally get some on my skin, it rinses out fine. (The same can't be said if it gets on your clothes, though.) I'm not always good at applying it evenly, but I've never noticed it coming out patchy or streaky. My hair is on the shorter side, but find that I can use the entire package if I want to in one dye session — personally I prefer to do that as I would rather not have two opened bottles of dye agent sitting in my closet for a few months. The instructions do say you can store the leftovers, though. The instruction booklet comes in a few languages, including English and Korean, and the box includes a pair of plastic gloves, a plastic "cape" or bib to protect your clothes, the two dye agent tubes to mix together, and a comb/brush to apply the dye. Some reviews mention shampoo, but I have never received sample packets in my box.I have never had any scalp tingling or pain or burning and have never had an allergic reaction to this or the natural brown color either. (Make sure to patch test, though!) When getting my hair dyed at the salon, it was pretty uncomfortable and would irritate my scalp for a while after, but I have never had that issue with this brand. Plus, I feel that this dye lasts a longer time than one might expect for an herbal hair dye, I generally get three or four months before I notice greys again and have to touch it up (that's with daily washing as well). The value is great for me and the result is perfect, too. I only would consider a salon dye at this point so I don't have to do the dyeing job myself lol.I would recommend this product lineup wholeheartedly and I pray they never ever change it, because it is perfect (imo) as it is right now. As for this specific color, it seems it varies as to how it'll come out so YMMV, but the color itself isn't bad at all and still looks quite natural. Far from the worst home dye result you can get!

Works perfectly, smells great, feels good.
I used this product to cover up a few straggly gray hairs I’ve been developing (super annoying), and I didn’t want to pay >$100 for a professional job when it was just the roots that were bugging me out. So I decided to try this out. And I love it!The color and activator come in 2 separate plastic tubes that you combine together in a plastic tray (provided) to form the color mixture. You only use what you need, which means that if you’re just touching up roots you can easily save the rest for later use, which is pretty cool, and a great value. The kit also comes w/ a comb (to help separate your hair into layers for the coloring process), a plastic cover (so you don’t stain your clothes or towels), and 2 trial sets of shampoo and conditioner, which was a really nice touch.I used Natural Brown, which — as mentioned in some other reviews — was actually a bit darker than I expected, but still looked natural and blended well w/ my natural hair color (I’m Asian) and balyage coloring.I loved that there was no chemical scent to the product at all. It also rinsed out nicely and didn’t leave me w/ that pasty-gritty build-up I’ve had w/ other home coloring kits, which can be hard to wash out. The shampoo and conditioner samples that were included smelled amazing when I was rinsing and really did a great job keeping my hair smooth and soft. Yes, my hair *actually* felt healthier after using this product!! Amazing.Ultimately, I got good coverage, an even natural color, it was easy to do, and I feel confident that I did’t just riddle my already-sensitive hair to an excess of heinous chemicals. Easy process and great experience overall.

The best at covering my stubborn gray hair
I have been coloring my hair since I was in my 20’s. I am now 52. I started out coloring my hair for fun. As I got older, gray hair quickly took over. I now color my hair because I HAVE to. I have tried almost every boxed dye and salon grade hair dye, I’ve purchased and used additives that were supposed to help cover my stubborn grays but didn’t. I’ve paid a lot of money in salon visits to keep those grays from shining through (I’m a brunette so they are easily visible) I’ve switched hair dressers in the past because I thought they weren’t doing a good job because I was leaving the salon with the gray hair above my ears still showing through. I assumed they weren’t doing a well enough job, After my 3rd hairdresser I came to the realization I have stubborn resistant gray hair. It wasn’t the hairstyles fault. I had to accept that I would need to be making salon visits every 4 weeks. Then quarantine happened, I was forced to have to color my own hair! I was searching Amazon reviews for a hair dye formulated to cover stubborn gray hair. I came across this brand and after reading the reviews, I thought I should give it a try. I have now used this product twice and it’s the best hair color I have ever used! I left the dye on my gray roots for 15 minutes and the last 5 minutes, I blended the remaining dye throughout my hair. My grays are covered and my highlights are still in tact,. The color is soft and not harsh. It covers my stubborn gray . The consistency is thick making it easy to apply . My only reason for not giving it a 5 star review. The smell. It’s horrible. You don’t notice the smell after a few minutes of using it and your hair doesn’t smell after using. I will definitely be purchasing again. This dye lasts longer and doesn’t fade as I have experienced with both professional and boxed hair dye.
