That's why it may not show as Purchased. What a phenomenal book! The Untethered Soul will stay with me forever, I hope!!! The first time I saw this book was at a previous yoga teacher's studio. The book was on the shelf right in front of me, so it became my drishti - my point of focus and concentration. I remember it so well. This was in 2012. It took me 5 years to find my way to reading it, or rather, listening to it and I have to say that the narration was key to how much I LOVED loved loved this book. Peter Berkrot does a remarkable job of enunciating and pausing and emphasizing and storytelling ... oh my god, it felt like he was right there in the room or in the car next to me, reading me every word, every sentence, every chapter and making me pause and think. Fantastic job of narration! The audible version is only 6 hours and it is the unabridged version. Highly recommend you listen to it. Well, The Untethered Soul did not disappoint one bit. I have to admit, the first couple of chapters are very deep ... all this talk of consciousness and the seat of awareness, which I long to understand, were a bit much to focus on, so I stopped listening and then felt drawn back to it. Happy to report that it took on a more practical approach. For this reason alone, I'm planning to go back and listen to the book again, something I rarely do. The other reason is simple: What Singer teaches in this book takes a lifetime to absorb, so a second listening will only get me familiarized more with what I've heard once. It is the repetiton and consistency that drills these powerful concepts of LETTING GO, being in the moment, living with love, choosing happiness, seeing the miracle in being alive, that drives them home. As I get old, I am far more interested in the exploration of the inner space and going inward and understanding how much lies behind the surface of my body and skin has been the most fascinating journey. Training and retraining the mind and body to respond with more JOY to life, that alone makes this the most incredible journey. I think depending on when you read this book on your life's journey, you will have a level of resistance to it. You may feel like sitting up and arguing with the author for 'oversimplifying' or not understanding your life's circumstances. I encourage you to keep listening. To empty your cup of all of life's prejudices and judgements and assumptions and just listen and receive. You may feel things shift inside of you, and decide that perhaps ,there IS another way to life, to joy, to love, to inner peace. Oh I adored this book so much. Off to listen go it again. I hope the other books by Singer are half as good, because that's more than good enough for me to read them. Review: I Wish I Found this book forty years ago. It's Amazing! - If you are looking at this book with the intent to buy it you should buy it. Do not listen to the voice in your head saying, "Maybe there is a better book" or "Will I really read it". Just buy it, and read it. My life is better and I am at a greater peace from this book. I'm 51, a guy, and I do not read these type of books as a normal occurrence. This book inspires me. I talk about it with friends. I recommend it. We all have issues, and if you want to better understand yours, spend the money and take the time. You'll be happier!

Great philosophy for living
I found the concepts in this book very helpful in having a better appreciation for every day life. Everything discussed except the last chapter is very logical and testable in the real world. I am very skeptical of all religions, but nothing in this book required me to “walk by faith”. The concepts discussed have helped me be more accepting of everything life brings me.

Overall, this is a very worthwhile read!
Do you feel like you're being held back? Are you looking for more? More inner peace, more balance, more mindfulness. Do you want to soar? What if the only thing holding you back is yourself? This is a short book that is worth the deep dive into exploring slowly. Read and process, read more, process more. Simple yet profound. To be fair and honest, there were parts that just didn't resonate with me, and I felt I just had to slog through. But I also highlighted many passages, marked many pages. I feel like this is a book you will go back to and maybe the next time some of those slow parts will resonate differently with me. Overall, this is a very worthwhile read!

All you need to quiet the voice in your head & live consciously
I have read Tolle, Deepak, Pema Chodren, Thich Nhat Hanh, Gary Zukav & more. Although all of these are very good also, I'd say this book is the most useful, most practical, easiest to understand & actually apply to your life. Michael S. gives lots of fantastic, intelligent examples to make sure that we fully get it. I first bought the MP3 CD for listening to while: walking, exercising & in the car. It was sooo good, that I ordered the book also, so as I could hi-light many areas & refer back to them often, as a quick summary. I recommend the audio first, as Peter Berkrot, the reader, is superb at applying the exact intonation where needed which is extremely helpful in getting the many important messages across. All audio books should be read by him! I almost thought that Michael S. was reading it, as they sound similar, which is better. Some audio readers do not suit the book, but not in this case. Every inch of the book & audio is profoundly productive...you get every penny's worth. It is by far the best value I have ever received in audio/book. It does not sound like psycho babble. Michael obviously lived this all himself, & in order to calm his own mind, he realized what needs to happen. He is the only one that has successfully explained what living "consciously" means & how to actually do it. You will learn how to deal with "the voice in the head", mind/heart pain, guilt, regret, fear, worry, death & more. He explains what "spiritualty" & "enlightenment" really is, for the regular person. He does not dwell on this, just mentions it a couple of times. He gives very useful suggestions of how to be happy. I wish I had known about this book sooner. It encompasses key concepts that I have had to read several books to get a lesser understanding of. I don't think Michael knows himself how good this book is. Watch a re-run of Oprah "Soul Sunday" to see Michael Singer's interview. I want to say so much more but I want to read the rest of his book. I use the audio(in bed)to quiet my mind after a busy day to ready the brain/mind for sleep. The book is not by any means "sleepy" (!!), it helps to remove the guilt & gives you permission to quiet your thoughts, so as you can consider sleeping. Ladies...try this audio before bed rather than Melatonin (that is being over dosed on). I comb every word he says. Oprah passed it to all of her friends after she was given it by a friend (but you don't have to be an Oprah fan to enjoy & find extremely useful). This book will be my guide for living.

The book makes profound spiritual concepts accessible. It is heavily based on Advaita Vedanta - A branch of Hindu philosophy.

This book was truly amazing. I can’t even describe the wisdom and teachings in this small box. I’ve red hundreds of books and this one is top 3 easy. Go and read it.

I didn't expect the book size is big. Just read the first chapter of the book, and the topic fit with my problem right, now. Really excited with the next chapter.
