Amazon Basics 3-Color Temperature Level and 3-Section Dimming LED Cabinet Light, Linkable, Direct Wire, White Finish, 24-Inch

One of the many things we got from Amazon when building our house. These have been one of the things we’ve loved. I love that you can set the temperature since we often use these at early morning and night when the rest of our lights are out. They do dim but reset brightness after being switched on/off at the receptacle (we don’t dim them anyway). They also can daisy chain. We just use Rolex directly to each one, but that’s an option if you only have one wire.Overall super happy with these. If we build again, I’ll very likely reuse these same lights.

I have installed under cabinet lights before, so I expected some level of difficulty with tight spaces. The push-in wire nuts work fine as long as you tightly twist the bare wires ( if using stranded wire) and properly strip off the insulation to about 3/8”. I only had to hardwire one light and used the factory supplied jumpers to daisy chain the other five lights. The three color setting allow you to choose soft white (2700K) warm white (3000K) or day light (5000K). The lights can be dimmed to half brilliance with a touch button, but the lights don’t retain that setting and return to full brilliance at the next turn on. They lights work great and we wondered how the prior homeowners didn’t install under cabinet lights years ago.

First, the width of this light is about 4” with the electrical clamp connector. Something to consider if installing in a tight space.Second, what everyone says about the wire length is true. It is way too short. I suggest cutting a couple of wires to plug into the push-in connectors, then use wire nuts to attach the feed wires.Third, there are no punch outs on the back of the fixture. The feed wire for my fixture comes straight out of the bottom of my cabinet. I used a hole saw to drill out a hole on the back of the light to run the feed wire through. This allowed me to flush mount the fixture to the bottom of my cabinet.There are two light brightness settings and I kinda wish there was a third setting that is more dim so I could use it as a nightlight in the kitchen.Aside from these installation issues, I consider the light a good value for the cost. Other direct connect LED under cabinet lights are more expensive and may require an adapter.I’d buy this light again, because knowing what I know now, installation would be a breeze.

We purchased ta few of these under cabinet LED lights over three years ago. They have been working flawlessly. Some people have asked if a longer link cable is available. Molex makes longer link cables and they can be found on the internet by searching for: 3 CKT OVERMOLDED MINIFIT JR CABLE.

Firstly, the light itself functions perfectly. The 3 color temperature settings are great and the touch dimmer works like it should. As far as being a light goes it would have been 5 stars, but the dimmer only having 100%-50%-off seems useless and really should have at least 1 more interval to choose from. The biggest problem is the actual design.I bought the 32 inch model which does not have an opening anywhere near the center (where the existing wires I needed came out of the wall) so I had to drill through the back to be able to install where I wanted, I will say the pictures showed me this in advance and I was already prepared to do so. The access panel to do all the wiring also hinges in the worst location, the panel opens at the back of the unit and hinges in the center falling towards you when the light is hung up. Since the light practically needs to be hung in place before finishing the electrical connections that means it is completely in the way and blocking your view while working. Lastly, the other reviews stating the wire length for the location of the electrical connections being too short are entirely justified. There is no play inside the unit so unless you have an absurd length of wire coming from the wall or are doing fresh install and cutting to desired length, you WILL need to add more wiring. In my case the existing wires came out of the wall about 3 inches and were still about 6 inches too short to reach the wire connectors from the center of the unit.Overall, the light is great once it's installed and was a killer price. But it is NOT friendly for a simple DIYer, so if you don't feel particularly handy then go ahead and buy a different brand. If you are comfortable with breaking out extra tools and/or modifying the product to suit your needs then this is a great value, just expect to work harder than "installing a light" should take.

This light replaced an old fluorescent fixture I had over my sink. It is very bright on the full power mode. I really like the soft touch button. That changes the power from bright to not as bright. The lower setting is still bright though, not really night light. The 3 light temperatures are distinctive in their appearance as well. I hard wired mine, just used the same wire as it was switched, and has worked great! Happy with it as I couldn’t find anything like it anywhere else even for twice the price.

I was looking for low profile lights. This one fit the bill. As many note, the 12 inch light has a small connection area. Once connected though, lights are bright. I also installed a 24 inch light. The longer light has plenty of space to make connections.

Worst under cabinet light I’ve installed. I’ve been doing electrical for 12 years. The wire spacing inside the fixture is terrible. I linked most of the lights with the jumper wires to save time and frustration. The fixtures say dimmable but only by the button on the light itself, and it doesn’t save the setting once the lights are turned off. I Installed 3 very expensive dimmers on these light and they all flicker terribly. Save your money and get something a little more expensive. I had to eat 400$ on new lights because the home owner hated it. Completely my fault for not doing my research. Hope this helps the small contractors out there like me.
