A Fun, Epic, Spider-Man Story!
"Spider-Verse" collects "Amazing Spider-Man" nos. 7-15, "Superior Spider-Man" nos. 32-33, "Spider-Verse" nos. 1-2, "Spider-Verse Team-Up" nos. 1-3, "Scarlet Spiders" nos. 1-3, "Spider-Woman" nos. 1-4, "Spider-Man 2099" nos. 5-8, and "Free Comic Book Day 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy" no. 1. The story focuses on a family named the Inheritors who seek those with spider powers (called “totems”) across the multiverse to feed upon them. On of them, Morlun, first appeared during J. Michael Straczynski’s early 2000s run on "Amazing Spider-Man". The story also includes elements from his storyline “The Other” and from "Araña: Heart of the Spider".Spider-Verse is a fun, innovative new Spider-Man tale that weaves strands from the past decade or so of comics along with various fun alternate universes (some of which include versions of Spider-Man from his own past, such as the multi-armed Spider-Man or clone Ben Reilly) that really feels like a good event for the character. In the past, some Spider-Man events were either too rushed (like “One More Day”) or far too long (like the “Clone Saga”). This manages to strike the right balance and also allows some of the more fun elements to shine through, like Spider-Ham. Plus, it helped launch Spider-Gwen and Silk. My only complaint about this volume is that the editors present the tie-in stories from "Spider-Verse Team-Up", "Scarlet Spiders", "Spider-Woman", "Spider-Man 2099" after the main storyline has ended, rather than putting them after the issues in which writers cross-reference them. It would be a more coherent volume if they did without those feeling like add-ons (though many of them appear in their own trade paperback format under their own titles). If you want an epic Spider-Man story that has a lot of heart, a lot of creativity, and helps to resolve some of the continuity issues from the 2000s, this is the book for you.

Too many negative Nancy’s, the reading order is not that bad.
Yes yes the books is not really in order but it’s a fun read and a great story. If you simply use post it notes to label the sections by title and (#)/part you can jump around and read it in order. I read all the Spider verse volumes 1st, then jumped back to the beginning and read it straight trough until amazing Spider-Man 13 (which starts concluding the story line). I then followed the order listed on the table of contents to fill in the story lines. I suggest just reading it until amazing Spider-Man 12 or 13 then follow the reading order. Team up 1, Scarlet 1, Spider woman 1, Team up 2, 2099 6, Scarlet 2, Spider woman 2 & 3, 2099 7, Scarlet 3, Amazing Spider-Man 13, Team up 3, 2099 8, Amazing Spider-Man 14, Spider Woman 4, Amazing spider man 15 - the end.Again just label each “chapter” as you scroll through the book beginning to end and label each with a post it. You can then just jump back and forth in order easily.I suggest just reading the Spider Verse stories first just to get it out of the way because they are silly and fun and not really that important to the story in terms of reading order. Everyone is complaining about the order and it’s not that big of a deal. I read it fairly lazy and it worked out perfectly.Great buy nonetheless.

"Wallopin' websnappers!"
Now the main complaint I'm hearing about this book is that it's not printed in reading order. And that's a stupid complaint. Come on guys, this story spans like eight different series's. If they mixed it together in the reading order it would be an unorganized mess. Instead Marvel chose to sort the stories in this book by series. And I think that's a great choice, as the book is well organized that way. This book comes in at more than six-hundred pages so you almost need spider-strength to lift it, but once you find a good reading area this book is pretty fun. Following the events of Superior Spider-man and Amazing Spider-man volume 1: The Parker Luck, the story follows Peter Parker and the rest of the Spider-man dealing with the threat of extinction brought on by the vampiric inheritors. If you're a Spider-man fan this book is a must have. It shows why Peter Parker is the world's greatest super-hero, and it has a ton of funny and cool moments for each character and all of the moments with Spider-ham and Spider-man 67' (wallopin' websnappers!) are pure gold. Even the Japanese Power Ranger Spider-man with a giant robot shows up.I'm not gonna lie, Marvel's asking price of $75 is a bit too high, but that's why we're all buying it off of Amazon, right? If you can find it for around $50 or below, it's worth the price. One of my top ten Spider-man stories.
