Difference between Math Dice Jr and Math Dice? I have two kids, ages almost 10 and 4.5.

Jr. would be perfect for the 4.5 year old. It is a great hands on way to learn simple mental math for adding and subtracting up to the number twelve. Regular Math Dice is great for the older kids to work on all four functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide). You have to find the answer on the spot using brain power and not a calculator, tablet or Chromebook! It is fun to play, quick to complete and works. . . .keeps the adults sharp too. I am glad I purchased, great return on investment. :)

could I get by on one set for my 5.5 & 10 yr olds, opposed to buying regular and jr sets?

You actually have to buy both sets because the Math dice requires 2 of the 12 sided die and the Jr. version only comes with one and also requires that 3 of the dice have only the numbers 1, 2 and 3 on them. But it's a great game and the price for both is more than reasonable and wort it.

Can a 4 year old play this game to learn addition?
