Riveting
There were times that there was too much rambling but overall it was a good book. The last 2 chapters was definitely something that kept you on the edge of your seat

Couldn't put it down
Very good book, it kept me engaged and kept me reading. Very good lesson for Christians, love is key, scripture says so.1 Corinthians 13 (NKJV Strong's Bible)The Greatest Gift1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Great Story
I read the original version when it was first released and prefer it over this revised version. Still good overall.

Really captivating
This was a thriller and the basis of the story was unique. The only problem I had was trying to keep track of all the Saudis....I eventually just gave up on that and enjoyed the story.

I like the original Blink better
This book was a surprise to me. I had read Blink by Dekker several years ago and bought Blink of an Eye for my family for a road trip. I kept thinking man this is much longer with people I don't remember. Sure enough it is a rewrite. I found it to be too detailed with too much repetition. One of the reasons I wanted Blink was for the fast paced action. Not so in the Blink of an Eye. Dekker goes on and on repeating the thoughts of his characters too much. I got the picture and completely understood the mindset of the character when he would bring it up again actually boring me a bit. He changed the outlook of Muslim vs Christian as well. If I had to suggest between the two I would go with Blink hands down. If you like detail and want a much longer in depth story with a bit more humor added then Blink of an Eye is for you. It is not a bad book, and if I had not read the original I would have walked away satisfied with this newer version.

Wish it Never Ended
Ted Dekker is amazing. This book will have you sucked in by the time you've finished reading the 1st few paragraphs! "Blink of an Eye" is the story about a genius college kid named Seth who wants to do something more thrilling with his life than sit through advanced college classes, & Miriam is a rebellious young woman from Saudi Arabia who is engaged to be married to someone she doesn't love, someone who needs her hand in marriage to overthrow the current political rulers in the country. The book tells how there story inter-twine and shows how the right kind of love, faith, & guidance can really change your life in the blink of an eye. Without spoiling the story, this is an amazing read, I'd recommend it to ANYONE looking for a good book. Ted Dekker does an awesome job with the pace of the story, the characters, the plot, in describing anything in the book, pretty much everything. And it's only around 400 pages so your not taking up a huge chunk of your life reading it. A+! 4 stars! 2 thumbs up! 10 points! You will NOT be disappointed.

Disappointed with edited version
The original book, Blink, by Ted Dekker is excellent! 5+ stars! The edited-for-movie version, Blink of an Eye, which this audio cd is from, removes the heart of the book, in my opinion. Gone is the clear contrast between Islam and Christianity. Hard truths of Islam's history are removed. The striking prayer test in the desert is watered down. And the Deity of Christ Jesus is removed. If you haven't read the book, it's a good action story and fun to listen to. The narrator does an excellent job of changing voices consistently for characters. There are no sound effects or background music. If you have read the original book, you may be disappointed.

A great read!
I read this book for the first time ten years ago - it left an impression. So I re-read it again and have once again been struck by the engaging plot. Now that I am older, I can also appreciate the depth of the spiritual discussions within the plot. A great read!
