I wasn't sure if the 47cm size would be large enough for a BBQ for 4 but it's easily large enough. Extremely well made, it holds heat in better than any kettle style unit I've had and is perfect for smoking or fast grilling. For slower cooking I fitted a temperature gauge and in drilling the 20mm hole in the lid to take the gauges sensor is when I found out what this Weber is made of. Tough as old boots! I suspect that this Compact will last for years. The accessories that I feel are almost essential are a briquette/charcoal starter and a side mounted holder for the lid. The small hanger that is situated under the lid is too hit and miss and also is in the way of the prime position for an after market temp gauge. Buy it with confidence - it really is a superb bit of engineering using quality materials.

Finally replaced our original after over 20 years. There was no need to look for anything different as these are made to last, easy to care for, the ideal size for cooking for our family and easy to cook on. Some say they are expensive but given the longevity and amount of use ours had I would say they are extremely good value.

Bought this to replace my old one as it was dropping to bits & quite big taking up a lot of space. I think this is a Good quality BBQ & the right size for us as a couple, easy to store in the shed as it’s not too big. I found it a bit fiddly to put together on my own & didn’t study the photos properly as I initially put a leg on the wrong way, I hadn’t realised till I had put the wheel on & hammered the wheel nut in so it took a while to reverse the process! That said I’m happy with it now and it seems robust and sturdy enough. Good value for money as I got it at a reduced price, I can see me using it a lot.

This is the first proper BBQ I've owned and can say I'm impressed with the build quality and ease of use - when it arrived there was a fault in the coating of the lower bowl, I contacted customer service and emailed some photos and they sent me a new bowl pronto , no need to send the old one back

Bought it during promotion, easy to assembly, took around 20 minutes, it’s sturdy and the build quality is good, especially the paint coating, it looks gorgeous!

I’ve bought this as a gift and the recipient is very pleased with it. It’s a great size for a small family and looks good. If it lasts half as long as ours (23 years and has never been stored inside) then it represents true value for money. They are easy to put together and the handle makes it easy to move when the wind changes and you need to re-position it to let the smoke drift in a different direction.

I bought this because I got really tired of trying to have a BBQ when I find the gas has run out. I decided to go back to basics and knowing Weber to be a good make I bought this one. We had poor weather last year so I used it only a few times but when I did it performed well and had that real smokey taste that is difficult to obtain froma gas BBQ. Good Quality. It's quite small and therefore not for a large gathering.
