Curasept Oral Jet
Dental Oral Power FlossI'm absolutely thrilled to bits with this dental water flosser. It does exactly as the information says it does. I was amazed at just how powerful the jet is, as I was uncertain about hand pumping it! However, I needn't have worried. There's hardly any effort involved though you do have to fill the reservoir a few times to do the whole mouth. I first primed it in out bathroom the jet of water hit the shower curtain with a loud thwack sound making the curtain move and also making me jump! My teeth and gums feel really clean after using it and I've only had it a couple of days. Brush teeth first with toothpaste and then you can see after using the water jet just how many small bits of food come out. Tape flossing is good but doesn't reach into pockets in gums, which is the problem that I have. My dentist suggested a water flosser to help strengthen my gums and prevent further formation of pockets. Having used it I can really believe it will do that. I purchased the water jet from the British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association. They were very quick to despatch and the price is quite cheap. I think it is just as good as any of these battery or mains powered ones and I'm going to purchase 2 more - one to take on holiday and the other to leave at work!

Good idea but falls short.
It could be really good but if you don't have above average strength in your thumbs you just cant get the pressure. This is a problem if you have a food impacting issue. Also the tank is very small and you have to keep on filling it. I am still looking for something that is compact and functional.

Great for gorillas(Please read second part of review)
Firstly let me say that as a male with quite large powerful hands I find this an excellent device. The nozzle is best placed exactly where you want the water jet to flush as opposed to just "point spray and pray", the only downside I can see is if you don't press the button hard enough you will not get the strength of jet you may require. Having previously owned both Hydrofloss and Waterpick devices both of which suffered mechanical failure, this device needing no power other than your own strength and being so simple should last a lot longer ( currently used twice a day for two months ). I find the reservoir holds enough water to do one side of my mouth before refilling, the amount held in the reservoir seems small at first but as you only pump the jet when it is in position it is sufficient. For once I look forward to taking this little device on holiday or when I go away sailing as it fits in my wash bag ( something I could not even consider with my previous devices )Revelation!!!! PLEASE READ THIS PART OF MY REVIEWGuess what ,just like all the others this device packed up and stopped producing a jet of water with any power at all after about three months use. I am an engineer and like a problem to solve from time to time, I took the unit apart and found the valve in the pump was sticking open, so I reassembled it and sprayed some SILICON easy slide spray up the water suction tube(The tube that sticks down into the reservoir) whilst pumping. After this I flushed the unit three times with water. Haypresto! the unit now pumps with more pressure than it did when new and more importantly takes about half the effort to get a good spray pressure. Silicon is non toxic to humans and is used in some food preparation and cooking processes. DO NOT use WD40 or oil based lubricants as they are toxic to humans and will damage the plastic components of the unit. I have carried out this "process" on both mine and my partners power floss units and where as she struggled to get a usable jet before, she is now happy to use it. I have only had to do the procedure once so far and it has lasted months. Hope this helps.

Fast delivery, decent packaging.
Worked well for a few months, squirts across the room if you press it hard (a bit like a water gun, pressure sensative) and did a really good job. It does however need filling up twice to use as the water tank is a bit small and the lid to attach it can be a bit fiddly. Far cheaper than other electric alternatives but ultimately broke. Prices go up and down on this item all the time, I would consider taking a chance on getting a second one if the price dropped below £10 with delivery.

Does what it should do, and a fraction of the price!
Excellent! A lot cheaper than the other stuff which probably does exactly the same thing. Why only 4 stars? Because I like it, but I don't know if the other gadgets are any better. I reckon it's probably just as good, but can't tell because I can't look between the gaps in my teeth to check. But I'm sure my dentist will be very impressed to hear not only am I flossing and using this device, but also that I didn't pay around 70 quid for a battery powered one with replaceable heads that cost even more money. Good thing about this thing is you can fill it with dental mouthwash. It also is quite powerful: I managed to soak my wife from about 4 feet away. You can also take it apart and fix it - another reviewer did this, so that's a plus too!

Good Intent, weak product
Great idea, but does make it easy to use. You have to pump like mad so you onl get the pressure you are able to create. Good Intent, weak product

It is exactly what it is which is why I rate it five star. If you do not use an electric power flosser then this is the next best thing - nowhere near as powerful but it is simple, works well, needs no power or batteries, and cleans between and under teeth where a toothbrush does not reach. If you do already use a power flosser then this will seem a bit weak and lacking - but get one anyway because it is lightweight and ideal for holidays (also pretty useful for the days at home when you have forgotten to charge up your normal power flosser!). Should last and workfor ages.
