Not only for paper crafting
These are sold as paper crafting tools and they work well for that. I also use them for fabric as they make measuring a sewing/hem line easy as pie to do. I make storage solutions from construction board and foam board too and these are very handy for making sure things are lined up and equally gapped.The only feature I wish it had was a sliding t section but that's just because I could then use it for spot on corners and straight edges.

They work well when the piece below is a certain thickness, if to thin it doesn't find the lip. If thicker, spot on.

Good product.
Great product, a little expensive, but I'm still glad I bought it. They take all the judging out of the equation. The rulers to help tear edges .. don't forget to lightly spray your paper with water.
