The Economy Go Set is your essential Go game set. It has everything you need to play in style, without stretching the budget. This set includes the Go Bento Box, which has size 22 glass stones (0.28 inches or 7 mm thick and 0.8 inches or 21 mm in diameter) and a 0.5 inch (1 cm) shin kaya veneer Go board. The board is reversible, with a standard 19x19 board on the front and smaller 9x9 board on the back. The board features the attractive wood grain for which shin kaya boards are popular and the glass stones make a satisfying click as they are played on the board. Each set contains 160 stones of each color (black and white). It's very rare for a game of Go be longer than 300 moves, so usually fewer than 150 stones of each color are needed to play. Although typically called 'glass stones', quality stones like these would be better described as ceramic stones. These stones are much stronger and more resilient than you'd usually expect from glass, and won't crack or chip easily. Shin kaya is what the Japanese typically call spruce (picea glauca), when it's used for making Go boards. It literally means 'new kaya'. The term shin kaya comes from the fact that spruce boards resemble traditional kaya boards in terms of color and grain.
