It's a classic
Devilman by Go Nagai is a classic, and definitely a must read for anime/manga fans. This is an omnibus containing the first half of Devilman, and Shin Devilman near the end (a spin off where Akira, and Ryo travel back in time). This version is missing a couple of pages compared to the original apparently, but I didn't have a problem with understanding the plot. The story is pretty good, but it kinda feels like it's trying to be too edgy sometimes. The book is formatted beautifully. The cover is very nice, and so is the spine. The back looks good, but the font used for the back is kinda generic. The book is also pretty thick, as it has 680 pages. There's a couple of colored pages too, but some of the coloring is kinda messy (it's still pretty good though). The art looks a little bit like Osamu Tezuka's, but it can still be distinguished as unique, and has some very very detailed pages. This was a really good addition to my collection, and I hope that you'll decide to add it to yours as well.

Weird and Wild, but Worth the Read
Let me just say I've never watched the Devilman Crybaby anime or read any other Devilman manga, so I was totally unprepared for how bizarre things get in this! It's a mixture of psychedelia, horror and action. I feel like the story progression is really off, but it's worth the read both to see all the weird and fun things that Akira and Ryo get into, and also for the historical significance that comes with this 40+ year old manga.Aside from the story itself, the physical book looks great. A perfect addition to any bookshelf.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, and I can't wait to read volume 2!

Great release if you're looking for the original story.
I have to say, I'm pretty glad Devilman Crybaby came out because it brought some hype to the original Devilman story. Since watching it, I've wanted to read the original story, but unfortunately, it's pretty hard to come by, let alone a well translated version. This release is actually translated really well from what I've read and the book seems to be of good quality. Not really much else I can say, everything else is what it was in the original! If that's what you're looking for, this is the release for you! Looking forward to Vol. 2!

BUY IT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY!!!
I love it it's great I can't wait to see where the next one takes the story... The artwork is great... I love the classic retro kinda look the art has... Some of the art isn't the best but I think it is well worth the money spent and I absolutely love the storyline

Good series
I really enjoyed reading thes classic manga series after hearing all the critical acclaim from Devil Man crybaby. I wanted to check out the original source material and have to admit it does not disappoint!!! Very good story telling even though slightly dated but that’s to be expected manga was just written differently back then. But still great

Highly Recommended with a Minor Issue
The only reason that this is rated four stars is that this edition, 30+ pages are currently missing from the second volume, which includes the scenes of Akira having the nightmare and the hospital visit afterward for those familiar with the manga. These scenes are actually crucial and the lack of these pages makes the second volume much shorter than it needs to be. I am not sure if this applies to all copies, but I have spoken with some friends who have their copies of this (french and italian versions specifically) and they report that those pages are missing from their versions as well. Not a major issue, but something to consider before buying.Despite this, the manga that I have received is very clean and crisp, the quality is outstanding and in excellent condition. As the inspiration for other classics such as Berserk and Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's about time that the iconic story gets an official English translation. It is worth the price for the 2.5 volumes as well as the addition of the spinoff series, Shin Devilman kept intact. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to read the original story in a physical form. For those that have seen Devilman Crybaby and want to see more, or for the ones that completely new and want something original to add to their manga collection, Devilman is a must-read.

With the power of a Devil inside him, he's a hero who fights for justice!
Cult classic. Do yourself a favor and read this violent-philosophical masterpiece.

Incredibly happy to have this in English finally
Incredibly happy to have this in English finally. I have a complete set of the original Devilman manga in Japanese, and I'm super psyched to finally be able to display this beside it. It's Massive and really nicely put together. A little surprised at Shin Devilman being in the middle, but not disappointed. Ive been a Devilman fan for a while, and had pretty much given up on ever getting the original manga in English, so Its obvious im pretty thrilled. If you're here from Crybaby and want to start reading the manga, this is a great version to support (always remember to support manga that you love). Not to mention a hardcover omnibus is pretty sweet to own.
