Every year, we host our families for the winter holidays for a really long weekend.Trying to find activities that 3 generations (ages 3 to 84) could enjoy can be challenging so last year, I devised bingo night with a twist. We turned our dining room tables into a bingo hall. We played game show music in the background. Then I announced the bingo numbers over a speaker because the family was loud, talking over each other. My husband took over emcee duties because he must've thought he could do a better job and boy was he a hit! He had a saying after each ball he called out. For example, B4, knock at the door like a professional bingo caller. Meanwhile, I'm helping the hard of hearing folks keep up with their bingo card. As for the prizes, I got several prizes and gift wrapped each present. The winner of a game chooses a mystery prize. Then we play another round and the winner chooses another prize but the twist is, after they've unwrapped the present, they can choose to keep it or swap prizes with a prior winner. Oddly, after 6 rounds, no one swapped. Everyone had fun. My MIL loved it so much that she wants to make it a family tradition. The funny thing is that no one knew I had planned this. In fact, it all came together at the last minute (except the prize part) -- from the music, the microphone to my husband (who was in the dark) taking over calling numbers with flair and really got into the role. It all came together perfectly and better than I envisioned it.So back by popular demand, I'm beginning to curate gifts for our 2nd annual bingo night. I was shopping around and came across these bingo socks and immediately snatched these ups. Normally, I wouldn't put up novelty socks as a prize, put these socks are the exception! We got these for our mom who enjoys bingo and she thought they were hilarious. Like a lot of heavily printed socks, they're more for the design than comfort and not the softest socks if that's your main concern, but they're still perfectly wearable. Great of you mainly want them as a fun gift.
