Yokai Neko, beautiful pictures and well researched!
I had been hoping for a collected information book of cats in Japanese tales for a while now, and here it is yokai cats in its glory! Some lovely pictures from Boston museum of Ukiyo-e and a good precise of the stories of BakaNeko and more. If you want to know the difference between a two tail cat, specifying cats, cat demons and all the other gersions, including the cat with a tribe on its head, then here it is!I love this book, if you like either cats or yokai this won't do you wrong.

Fascinating
What a lovely and interesting book. I bought one as a gift and promptly bought it again for someone else. It’s a smaller book than I initially expected but this doesn’t detract from it at all.

A book for those who love cats, those who fear them, and those who like beautiful books
Whether you love cats or hate them, there's plenty in this book to make your hair stand on end. In one small and beautifully designed volume, Zack Davisson has collected stories and pictures of Japan's traditional cat-women, cat-monsters and cat nightmares that will make you view your fireside tabby in a whole new light. From the revelation of how late in history cats came to inhabit Japan, to the beautiful woodblock prints recording their many mysterious links with the world of the supernatural, his book is a delight. Very highly recommended.
