Haidee-Jo is a professional artist who specializes in painting in oils. She works as much as possible ‘en plein air’, has excellent drawing skills and produces fresh and vibrant paintings which glow with light and color. In this film Haidee-Jo chooses to paint on the Roseland Peninsula, one of her favorite parts of Cornwall. She selects seascapes - boats at anchor and a muddy estuary at low tide, as well as the pier at St Mawes at high tide. Great DVD and I am happy to have it in my library!!
I love this DVD!! Haidee-Jo has a great brush stroke and shares a lot of information on what she looks for in a composition and her techniques. She is really interesting to watch and listen to. I learned a great deal from her and I will watch this DVD again. Here book is also lovely and loaded with tips and great information.

Best Instructional Oil Painting Video Out There!
I have purchased LOTS of instructional videos on oil painting, and, by far, Haidee-Jo's is my very favorite! I've watched it multiple times observing her brush strokes, how she puts paint on the canvas, and how she does a sketch as a roadmap for her painting. She has such an easy way about her that is so easy to watch. One other recommendation I have, to buy in tandem with the video, is to buy her book, Vibrant Oils, too! You'll find additional information in there, such as her palette, the exact brushes she uses, and lots of other valuable info. You won't regret your purchase of either item! :)

A valuable resource for the landscape painter
I really enjoyed this DVD! In it Haidee Jo takes you around the coast and countryside in her native England painting several charming scenes. She describes her decision making process and how she moves from bigger shapes to choosing what details to include. The camera often pans in to show her signature brushwork which I found helpful. Highly recommended! Buy the companion book for more details about her materials and process.

If you love Haidee-Jo's work then you will enjoy watching her as she creates her beautiful work. Since she is in England, the opportunity to take a workshop is not an option, her DVD is the next best thing.
