Perfect for small-spaces!
I chose this desk because of it's tiny footprint. My bedroom is rather small, and I wanted something that wouldn't take up much space. This is clearly not large enough for grand crafting adventures, but for journaling, planners, and smaller craft projects it's perfect! This took me a few hours to assemble because I was intentionally slow & careful to avoid marring the fiberboard. Every piece is carefully numbered, so it was no more difficult than an Ikea assembly and all I needed was a Philips-head screwdriver. I did, however, choose to use zip toggle anchors rather than the included plastic wall anchors to secure this to the wall.I left out the teeny tiny cubbies to make room for my washi tape dispensers, but chose to leave the little slant-shelves in place. They happen to hold planner sticker books PERFECTLY! With plenty of room to add more at some point, my desk is currently holding: pens & markers, Gelatos, various tiny writing accessories, TONS of sticky notes, a stack of planner sticker books, four washi tape dispensers, a wastebasket, planners, binders & a small stack of notebooks, and several drawers of wooden stamps.Does this hold all of my crafting supplies? No, of course not. But is it a great place for smaller crafting without taking over the dining room table every time I feel creative? Absolutely!

Great set up, but a tad challenging to put together.
Do you like puzzles that are tough? Me too! But not in the form of a desk cabinet thingy. So, this is partly my fault for trying to put it together by myself after putting so many 2 person job items from Ikea together by myself. While I did succeed, I suggest getting someone to help you. Don't be stubborn like me when my husband was in the next room and would have gladly helped if I had asked. The biggest issue is that several of the parts are all held together by wooden pegs and nothing else and it's held together loosely so the parts keep falling out while you're trying to attach others. I'd suggest for the manufacture to consider more screws or something for these parts or make the whole a hair smaller so the pegs are snug. All that said, now that I do have it together, it's fantastic! The only other complaint I have is it smelled a tad funny coming out of the box and the smell lingered for a bit and I'm not sure how good it is to be inhaling that plastic like smell.

CHECK THE DIMENSIONS!
This product is great! Not a good size for adult furniture but perfect for kids, or good for a small room. I am using it as a vanity and it has enough spaces that are good sizes for nail and face products. This product MUST be fastened to a wall. It’s thin compared to its height and will wobble and fall. Command strips will not do the trick for very long and they won’t work if you have anything heavy on the top shelves. The wood is not extremely strong, but is probably good for short term, ~5 year use. You can fit small books on the bottom shelf section, but you can’t fit any in the top section.

Desk looks just like the picture and looks great!
This desk is great for small spaces. Using it in kid’s room, and when folded up, it hides all the stuff and keeps the cats out of his things. The paper cubbies are only deep enough for a half sheet of paper or small envelopes, we knew that before we ordered it. We will need to help our six-year old open and close it so he doesn’t pinch his fingers until he gets used to it. It’s not sturdy enough for him to sit or climb on like some of his other kids furnishings, so we’re setting down safety rules to him about using his new desk. This desk should serve him well for years to come, highly recommend it!

Daughter loves it. 2 possible improvements
Well made and really works well. Needs 2 improvements. 1. Stronger hinge arm when in down position (maybe two arms instead of one) 2. A rubber barrier at the inside of door hinges to help keep materials out of. Still a good buy.

What a hot mess!!!!!
Where do I start? First the instructions were written up wrong with parts labeled wrong. Poor quality. Tiny little half inch screws expected to hold up 10+ pounds. Breaking right away. Where there was supposed to be pre-drilled holes there were none. An extra slot for the backboard was also in the front of the top shelf. I had to go to the hardware store and Jerry rig the desk with hinges so I can actually use the unit. I had to drill my own holes for the latch because they were not pre-drilled. This unit is not for hardwood flooring because it slides and that’s why it broke. I bought rubber feet to put on the bottom of the open desk part...chalkboard part so it won’t slide. When all the work with said and done it took me 8 hours because of all the problems. After talking with the company they offered me $20 back or to send it back to them. I laughed because I had to pay an extra $11 in parts to fix it to make it work. The only way to send it back to them would you take a sledgehammer to it because I glued it in the process of building it to make it sturdier. Very flimsy!!! I made a complaint with Amazon and overstock.com and utopia Alley reached out to me. After talking with the company they offered me $20 back or to send it back to them. I laughed because I had to pay an extra $11 to fix it to make it work. The only way to send it back to them would you take a sledgehammer to it because I glued it in the process of building it to make it sturdier. I told them hell no you owe me 50% back for the hell that I was put through. They have not gotten back to me. I’m not incompetent I know how to put things together. I’ve put together my dresser and my fireplace and I have spent my whole life using power tools so I know what I’m doing.. Warning! Buyer be aware!!!
