The Continental Grand Prix 400S II is one of the most popular racing clinchers in the world. One of the key praises of the clincher was that it came close to performing like a tubular tire. Well...now the Gran Prix 4000S is finally available as a tubular. You get the same low rolling resistance, low weight, and the renowned Continental BlackChili rubber compound. A vectran breaker underneath helps prevent punctures, and the seamless casing design makes the gluing process and properly seating the tire much easier. Tubular version of popular clincher racing tire BlackChili compound for improved grip and longer wear life Vectran breaker for puncture resistance Seamless casing for easier mounting 240 TPI casing for a smooth, supple ride

Best Tubulars I owned.
So I have tried other tubulars and been looking for something that was a little bigger like a 24 or 26mm. I had Schwalbe One, Vittoria Corsa, and only had puncture problems. I also had issue with the tire loosing air overnight and having to pump up every ride let alone checking constantly after longer rides. My first set of tubulars were Continental GP 4000S and so I went back. After riding my first GP4000s for 2600 miles and then riding the other 2 brands less than 500 miles a piece before they had failed I decided to go back. If its not broke dont fix it. Thats why I am making this review because its fair to say not many reviews are out there about tubular only tires and most info is clincher related. I ride both clinchers and tubulars. I race on tubulars but rode them everyday too. Clinchers are easier but tubulars with Stans No Tubes is almost my perfect combination. Any small puncture will seal and you can get home. On the Vittoria's I walked home after a large piece of metal sliced the tire open and Stans was no use. The Schwalbe Ones blew in snake bite and and Stans blew everywhere and my leg. Had my wife come get me as it was to far to walk. Continentals I have never had problem. Dont overthink it, these are great , fast , reliable tires.

Five Stars
This is a very good lightweight tire to use for both racing and training.

Good tire if it lasts more then 20 miles
Bought two of these tubular tires as a replacement for schwalbe 3 y.o. tires which had over 2000 miles on them. After the first small ride of less then 20 miles, one of the tires started falling apart. I really hope that this is an isolated incident.

Perfetto !
