Peace of mind
It took me a few tries to get the hang of this little monitor but once I figured it out, I find it easy to use and effective. You just have to follow a couple of rules. Firstly I didn't read the directions--I'm a repeat offender :)--and I either got an error reading or an unexpectedly high one. I was putting it on the outside of my wrist like a watch instead of placing the meter on the inside. Once I thought about that it seemed obvious you'd need the business end near your pulse. It's a little more awkward to place it on the inside but that's what you need to do. Then you need to hold your wrist at heart level or a bit higher, and preferably supported. With that method, I get reliable results. It also is useful to take your pressure at the same time of day each time and under the same circumstances, if possible. I get a more consistent reading using this method, so I'd know if an unusual reading was meaningful rather than just because of different circumstances.Luckily I have healthy blood pressure, but after a family member had some problems, I decided it would be good to test mine occasionally to be sure it wasn't edging up. I've been very pleased with this monitor. It comes in a hard plastic case that protects the buttons from being pressed by mistake. There's a power button to turn it on and when the monitor is ready to record pressure (only a second or two after turning it on)a heart flashes to tell you to push the start button. The cuff tightens and then releases and when the pressure has been determined it displays on the screen with a background color indicating normal, high or hypertensive high. The systolic and diastolic pressure can reflect different colors in the event that one is, say, normal and the other is in a higher range. You can set the time and date and the meter keeps track of history. There are buttons that allow you to scroll through. The date and time of each reading is shown.I'm very pleased with this wrist monitor, which I find far easier and more comfortable to use than an upper arm monitor, plus for me, it's been reliable and consistent and gives me peace of mind.

Great, BUT read this review...
I just received this item from Amazon and really like it's features and functions. The different color screen backgrounds that indicate blood pressure levels are really a fantastic feature. All wrist monitors should be made like this, so you can just tell at a glance whether your pressure is high, low, normal, whatever.. However, what is not mentioned anywhere in the boxes literature or packaging pictures is that the settings are based on 4 colours (sort of) - NOT three as shown in the pictures/packaging.Anyone with LOW blood pressure results (that is below 100 on top number, or below 60 on the bottom number) will get NO colour at all as a background - just the regular muted greyish/green LCD background that is on all the other monitor brands out there. So if both your numbers are below 100/60 there will be no illuminated background colour to your screen - still readable but not as high contrast. The green, orange and red background colors which indicate normal, high-normal and high blood pressure values respectively, are very vibrant and provide better contrast to read the values. The other nice thing about these colors is that you will also get split screens with two background colors if the high and low numbers fall into two separate blood pressure ranges. For example a reading of 132 over 78 would give you an orange background on top and a green background on the bottom.... 110 over 58 will give you a green background on top and no illuminated color on the bottom. The only other point I will add is that I already owned a NISSEI blood pressure wrist monitor I had bought in Japan about 5 years ago. It seems to give consistently higher readings than this Ozeri model - on average I would say about 10 units higher per reading on both the high and low numbers. Which one is more accurate, I don't know, though I'd like to believe that it is the Ozeri model because it is newer (and because it gives me more favorable readings!).I'm deducting one star for incomplete information on the instructions and packaging for this product. Otherwise, highly recommended.

A good wrist-cuff monitor
Very, very easy to use. I record results straight into a spreadsheet so I've not tried using the memory functions.Sometimes I get an outlier reading and have to take the best of three results, despite my efforts to sit and act consistently. I had this with my previous monitor as well, so I knocked only one star off. I have no evidence that any other method is more reliable.I good tip for you if you're new to tracking blood pressure: do it several times per day when you first start, and track the results against time of day. My pressure consistently goes up 10mm from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, so if I get a high reading in the evening I don't panic - it's just normal. Also for newbies: try testing it at different heights. You will quickly see why the instructions advise you to hold it at heart-height. I get a 65mm difference between holding it above my head, and touching the floor with it. That is extreme, but it demonstrates that if you are not consistent then you just won't get results that make sense.

Simple to use with clear and accurate readings, excellent BP monitor
Received this monitor promptly, very easy to set up. The instructions are also easy to understand. The monitor is lightweight with a large illuminated digital screen and very simple to use. The monitor shows clearly your blood pressure and heart rate (pulse) readings. The monitor uses a traffic light warning system. Green indicates normal pressure level (OK) Orange indicates prehypertension (Warning) and Red indicates hypertension (seek medical advice). This useful feature makes understanding your blood pressure straight forward and easy to understand. The monitor also gives an average of all the blood pressure readings stored in its memory.

Bought this cos my blood pressure was on the high ...
Bought this cos my blood pressure was on the high side when I went for a 'op' Pre-assessment. I was told to go to the Nurse at my locsl Drs 1- 2 p.w. to monitor my B.P. & send the results in. This machine showed my B.P. to be on the low side of normal so I thought it was faulty until I went yo the Nurse & her machine almost tallied with mine. I reckon I must have been more worried than I realised at the Pre-assessment!

I like it!
I am really pleased with this product. Easy to use and accurate. The colour coding is very useful, too as you can see when your reading is not as it should be! The fact that it records your previous readings is a good idea. The only improvement I could suggest would be to make the home screen text easier to read. Dark grey against a light grey background is very difficult to see! However, I can certainly recommend this product!

Very useful
I purchased these for a friend who has high blood pressure - she has found it very useful for monitoring her BP at times when she is under stress or has unexpected headaches. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that she hasn't checked them for accuracy with those used by the doctor. However from a STRICTLY non medical perspective they appear to be very good.
