Another Step

22 years old and still fantastic. Surprisingly only 3 singles were released here in the UK You Keep Me Hangin' On (no.2), Another Step (no.6) and Say You Really Want Me (no.29), but i have to say Hit Him, I've Got So Much Love, She Hasn't Got Time For You and The Thrill Of It would all have been huge - this is one of my fave Kim albums, and always lifts the spirits to a good good feeling. Any Kim fan debating whether to own this cd, should buy it immediately - or the record company should remaster Kim's past albums and re-release them. A remarkable gem of the 80's, with masses of hits beneath her belt, Kim should be standing neck and neck with the likes of Culture Club, Wham!, Duran Duran and Madonna. She sold millions in her heyday - so it's time to bring it all back.

This wonderful Deluxe Edition of Another Step is sensational, a truly magnificent album all the bonus racks are fabulous as well as all the remixes and extended versions on the second disc, this album is a must have for Kim Wilde fans and the remastered sound by Cherry Red is excellent.

Kim Wilde is surely Britain's pioneering pop queen. Having had probably more singles than any other UK female solo artist. On album no.4 she scored her biggest hit with "You Keep Me Hangin' On" originally by The Supremes. Another Step is pure 80s pop,fillied with catchy tunes highlighting slick production and ambition. Where as Kim's earlier albums were more focused on art and new wave, Another Step is geared towards a much more commercial appeal. Cherry Red's fabulous 2 cd version is notable for two main reasons: Firstly it's the only complete and comprehensive set including all alternative versions,b-sides and remixes available together for the first time: Secondly it's remastered sound enhances the listening experience over all other releases of this album out there. Buy It!!

If you like Kim Wilde, then you will love this remaster. And, there are tracks on this CD that have never been released on CD before, like 'Loving you', just a fantastic track in it's own right, I can't stop listening to this one! Just great. :-)

Super album from Kim Wilde. So many good songs and remixes

さて前作まではUKニューウェイブを引きずっていたキムがここで一皮向けた。一般的には大ヒットしたユーロビートカバーの1だが、寧ろそれよりもR&Bを取り入れたサウンドのタイトル曲や、ポップロックな「I've got so much love」や「School girl」みたいな軽いノリの曲やらスパニッシュ・ギターをフィーチャーしたバラードやら、聴かせる。「Say you really want me」のリミックスはダラダラと長いだけ(笑)だが、これはこれで楽しい。このアルバムで初めてデジタル化されたリミックスやシングル・カップリングが多数。

Kim Wilde délaisse le côté synthétiseur du précédent album pour un son plus rock. Bien lui en prend car avec une réinterprétation d'un titre des Supremes "You keep me hangin'on" arrivant à la première place du "billboard", un top 50 états-unien établissant les meilleures ventes dans un top 100. De l'album contenant ce titre, elle tira également les simples "School Girl", "Another Step" et "Say You Really Want Me" (tiré du film "Running Scared" et qui figure également dans la BO du film, en français "2 flics à Chicago", mettant en scène Billy Crystal et Gregory Hines) qui ne fonctionneront pas autant.

Es una maravilla de cantante

Interesante para los seguidores de Kim y también para los que la desconocen,ya que hay buenas versiones de los temas principales, siendo un gran trabajo de esta cantante inglesa. Este disco guarda auténticos tesoros.

Well there could be alot of things said about Kim Wilde. But just taking this CD "Another Step" defines her as a classic pop artist.Her doing "You Keep Me Hanging On" & "Do You Really Want Me" alone are worth it buying.Plus having the extended mixes of each remastered are well worth it. You wanna take Another Step back in time? This is your CD to own!
