Quiet and effective in a 16 x 12 bed room (Update -- 5 years now still great)
I bought this for my bedroom to act as a fan across my face as I sleep with the benefit of cleaner air in the process. I have a bird cage in the room & have historically found that the dust accumulation (probably dander significantly contributes) extreme in that room. I've run the filter 24 x 7 for nearly 2 years now and find that the dust problem has nearly vanished (need to dust every week or 2 instead of daily). I find my sinuses don't clog up at night nearly as bad as before. I noticed a slight ozone initially but found it disappeared when I replaced the foam filter that comes with it with a charcoal filter trimmed to fit (bought a large cheap one & got multiple refills out of it). Hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying it's lasted so well.Clean up us pretty easy, I vacuum it out when the charcoal filter gets covered ( one a week or so) replace the charcoal filter every 2 months or so as needed & wash the permanent filter about every 6 months. In addition the breeze is perfect to keep the air moving across my face as I sleep. Nearly inaudible at the low speed setting, though since I have tinnitus, white noise was part of why i always ran a fan at night anyway. High setting is a perfect noise level for me.

Works great, generates little to no sound at all/UPDATE
I ordered this filter as a replacement for one that finally died (different manufacturer). It works great, takes up very little floor "footprint" space, and even at at full speed (two settings only on the model I purchased), it's doesn't bother me. It's very lightweight and easy to move from room to room, if needed; you can pick it up with one hand and carry it. The filter releases easily from the unit, and while I haven't needed to clean it yet, the instructions make the process seem extremely easy.I've got pets (one is on meds for respiratory issues) so this purifier MUST work well--so far, it's terrific. Highly recommended!UPDATE: Almost a year later, this item is still working as well as it did when I bought it, it's on 24/7 at home and has made a big difference in air quality. Easy to clean, I vacuum the filters 1x a week and wash them 1x a month.

Works super good.
I bought this for my room to cut down on dust. There is a very significant difference in the amount of dust accumulating on surfaces. MUCH less. It also produces a pleasant, clean smelling odor while running but that may just be cuz it's new and all.It has two speeds and is not irritatingly loud. You can have a conversation next to it without having to raise your voice. The small amount of noise it produces is well worth the great reduction in dust. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to reduce dust.July 2015 update: I have run this every night (8 to 9 hours per night) since purchasing it in 2011 and it is still going strong with no problems. Also, this unit produces a soft wind sound that helps drown out external noise (noise outside of your home ie, cars planes, trains etc). It helps me to sleep better as I do not get woke up by neighborhood noises.

started to make noises, hidden dust collects inside machine
I have had this a couple of months now and it works well. It collects the dust and really helps with my allergies. Just as an experiment I tried leaving it off for a couple of days, and my allergies went haywire. It makes quite a difference! It doesn't make alot of noise, even on high- just enough white noise in the background to help me sleep. I also love the fact that the filter can be removed and either vacuumed or washed extremely quickly and easily in seconds. Other replaceable filter machines I have owned had black washable filter material that went in front or on top of the paper filter, but were so messy to clean and took hours to dry. This one is back in use in minutes. I can wash it as often as I like and keep it at optimum efficiency. You can't do better unless you want to spend twice as much or more.UPDATE: After six months the machine started to make a whirring noise that's very irritating, even on low. Also I discovered a design flaw. Dust will build up inside the machine! I removed the filter to clean it and noticed the motor inside was covered with dust. Pull out the filter and take a peek inside the machine. You can see the build-up of dust on the motor, but you can't reach it. You have to completely unscrew the back to reach it and clean it. This is not a true HEPA filter so over time the smallest particles will get thru the filter and build up inside the machine. So instead of removing dust, it actually starts to distribute it!

works as it should
This seems to work quite well. The dusting that is required in my place (in Arizona so dust is a pretty big issue for most) has dropped quite substantially. I also live in an all tile house and the corners and up against certain pieces of furniture have a tendency to collect little dust bunnies. This doesn't happen almost ever anymore. Some note that the unit is a bit loud on full speed. I have noticed this too but I don't think that it is too loud. It is probably just a matter of personal preference. Still, I have two of these units (one in the office, one in the living room) of my place and use one of the Ionic Breeze Quadra's that I bought many years ago in the bedroom because it is silent even on full speed -- but also doesn't seem to work quite as well since it doesn't rotate the air as much as the Honeywell QuietClean does.An added benefit, mine running on full speed for a full 24 hours only used about 0.4 KW/h of power, so they are quite energy efficient. Still, I'm on SRP's EZ-3 plan (2-5pm more expensive power costs) so I turn them off remotely (setup a custom home control system with an arduino) even so.

PATHETIC SERVICE FROM HONEYWELL. NO SOLUTION EVEN IN 1 YEAR
As you can check from your records, I bought this [product last year. Since day one, it never worked. I have emailed/called Honeywell costumer support from every possible source, however, they claim that it’s not honey well product. I will surely take Honeywell or Amazon to consumer court for all this inconvenience caused during last 12 months.

So glad I found this!
I've only been using this for a day, so far, but have felt an immediate improvement! While away at school I am renting a room in a house that is just full of everything I'm allergic to, but after sleeping with this on overnight, I actually woke up with very little to no congestion for the very first time since moving in three months ago... what a great feeling!! Looking forward to moving, but for now, this will be a huge help!I find the sound rather relaxing, too - not too loud, at all, and provides subtle white noise.

I would not recommend this product
It did not work for me because I still could not sleep well after using it for a month. The sound kept me up some nights even at the lowest setting. I would not recommend this product.

Very long lasting with some tweaking in it's later life.
Has worked well for almost four years. In the last few years I had to adjust the worn aluminum foil-like contacts of the filter that seemed to stop conducting power to the electrostatic filter, but otherwise it's working again. Once I placed some additional conductive foil on the filter, it started working at full capacity again. It's a very durable machine. One tip to share. I'd suggest running this all the time and don't turn it off save for cleaning. After having it running for months at a time, I shut it off and forgot about it for a few weeks. It barely started up again and made horrible sounds. If this happens to you, just give it some time to loosen up. I'm guessing it's from being dormant and the lubrication freezes up due to age. Keep it running and everything is fine. Again, my machine is almost four years old.
