Super Macro Lens packed in display box

The best add on macro lens available in the commercial market outside of industrial microscopes

I have used, and absolutely love, the Raynox 250 magnifier lens. As with this recently purchased Raynox 505, the 250 easily clips to the front of any lens (I current employ it with my Canon 100 macro plus an extension tube and a twin front-mount flash system). However, the Raynox 505 barrel is much narrower than the 250 and this is where my shooting style comes into conflict. Since the Raynox 505 has such a high magnification courtesy of the thick optics and narrow barrel, using this for insect photography in the field is out of the question. this would be an ideal lens for someone working in the studio using a tripod or rail system where fine calibration of the camera versus subject could be employed. It was fun to try this lens, but for my in the field, hand held (see example photo which was obtained with the Raynox 250) style of insect photography, this much more powerful lens does not mesh very well. I still gave it 5 stars as, in the right setting, this powerful additional piece of equipment could get some pretty incredible images with the right set up!! As a quick additional note, with the narrow barrel and thick optic glass design, you will need some pretty powerful and well placed lighting to achieve a well lit image. Just a thought.
