Quiet, effective, and I will but another
Our old Hawaiin Breeze fan quit oscillating, and it was kinda a pain to clean anyway. After looking around, there didn't seem to be any one fan that stood out in the reviews, so I decided to take a gander on this.It came mostly assembled (just add a two part base), and it was up and running. The icons on the unit do a good job explaining the functions, and the remote works reasonably well (honestly I haven't used it much other than to test it for y'all). The internal oscillation is novel, and while it may not travel as far as some fans, it more that met our needs. It seems to have a 80 degree or so range, and as the unit stays in one place, using the controls and remote is easy while it's oscillating. Likewise it's a bit easier to adjust, as however it's pointed, it will oscillate more or less the same in either direction. The speeds are modest, yet effective, and all are very very quiet. The volume of air moved relative to the sound produced is impressive. As noted this isn't the most powerful fan, so where I may have used the lowest setting before (on our other fan), now I would use the middle setting, but it's a bit brisker and much much quieter.I can't speak for durability, though I will update this review as needed. For now, I'll probably get another sooner or later.

Outstanding fan but died in 24 hours
Here was my original review I posted, until it died. My additions are at the bottom. For people who are worried about noise, and watched the video the other poster posted, remember, that was a directional mike on a camera very near the unit. I was shocked at how silent this is compared to my other fans. At high, this is still less noticeable than my Honeywell at low.Granted, it doesn't move as much air as that does at high, but I didn't want that much airflow unless I'm drying out my basement. For my great room, this is outstanding. When I have the TV on at a normal volume level, 12 feet away I can barely notice the fan noise at high. At medium, I can kind of notice it if I really try.I've got oscillating space heating towers, and as others have complained, the rotating unit is annoying and distracting. This accomplishes a great range of motion with only a small portion inside noticable as it moves. And that's more seeing light behind it as the inner mechanism pivots side to side and you are lined up right. There was no smell or noise along with the ionizing on this unit, but by the same token I haven't noticed anything accumulating around the base as their customer support told me I would when I asked about cleaning the unit. Their reply was that there is nothing to clean in or on the unit, that the "dirt" will fall to the floor near it.I have no rattling, no unusual noise at all, on any of the settings from the oscillation, no wobble, nothing. It is incredible on low, because the room feels fresher, you get some slight air movement occasionally as it passes you, but nothing too obvious. Very subtle and very silent. On medium, same thing just a bit more of the breeze. High, it's enough to make me comfortable after work when the house reached 81 degrees since I had the air off all day, without having to turn on the air conditioner. Now compared to my smaller "turbo" honeywell circular fan, it's not as powerful - but then towers would never be that powerful as far as I can tell. If you need a very huge blast of air, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for something to make your area more comfortable without the annoyances of a standard fan, this is definitely a solution for you. Most attractive of all the ones I've looked at, blends very well into the room unobtrusively, and does its job well. Which is what I always look for, something designed well and functions well. This is and does.EDIT:24 hours later, the unit no longer oscillates. Light comes on, but the internal mechanism simply no longer operates. So returning it. Went from 5 star review to 3, won't give it a 1 since clearly this is not a "normal" issue otherwise all these people who reviewed would've had a different story, but also obviously it's a crapshoot...

GARBAGE!
I can't believe I was sucked in by the fancy display, internal oscillation and nifty remote control hiding spot! The output of this fan is tragic. Not only is it loud once you get past the lowest setting, but internal oscillation is cut off on one side of the grated opening (so its blowing the air back into itself) and doesn't reach all the way to the other side. This isn't just one unit malfunction; I purchased one for my room and one for my child's and they both do the same thing. The remote is also useless. The fan is positioned no more than 7 feet from where the remote is when I'm trying to use it and it will not work! Its not the battery, its the slight angle that's too much for this fan to be able to pick up a command from the remote. Before my beloved Lasko tower fan decided to give out, it was in the same exact place this new fan is in now and I NEVER had any problems using the remote. I didn't buy a remote controlled fan to have to get up out of bed to turn it off/on and neither should you. Keep looking because this isn't the fan you want to get stuck with.

Sadly Broken..
Product arrived on time and just before the heat wave. We bought this fan for our bedroom because other reviews posted made it sound like the perfect fan. Unfortunately, when the fan arrived I was underwhelmed by the poor packing job. HOwever, My hubby put it together in a jiffy and had it set up and the quite whir of the fan was like music to our ears!!! Until 5 minutes later... when we could hear a click, click, click, click, click-ing sound. Do you remember when you were a kid and you used to put a playing card on your bike so it would make a sound whenever the spokes hit it??? Imagine that sound, in your cool, quite, dark bedroom as you just started to fall asleep. Annoying right? Yep, we thought so too! So, we returned out purchase (the process was easy and pain free) and suffered through the heat wave. Next time I think we'll just head to the store so we know what we're getting instead of taking a gamble online. Hope this post helps :)
