Not the latest Taunton For Pros By Pros edition. This particular book is now almost twenty years old, and is out-of-date. Building code requirements and tool technology have both changed in the past two decades. The book may have been well-received back in its day but the presentation style is not on par with today's publishing looks, with today's much better color photos .. recommend looking for more current versions of Taunton DIY books.

Not very good; Trim Carpentry (For Pros By Pros) or Taunton's Trim Complete: Expert Advice from Start to Finish are much better books. I bought the book to learn how to do, especially, various kinds of door and window trim. Very similar to demo videos on-line, or on This old house or GTV. The Taunton books are well designed and well-written. By contrast, Trim Carpentry Techniques: Installing Doors, Windows, Base and Crown is a bit dated and 'clunky.'

It arrived slightly damaged, and it was obvious it was a used book. It was published in the late 80’s and is outdated. While most of the techniques can still be used, a modern book discussing use of modern tools and materials was what I was looking for.

Great book for the price. Paid more the shipping than I did for the book. Used book in great condition. Lots of clear pictures. Well written and orgnaized. I wish it had more information on installing baseboard molding on uneven and unlevel walls. Book suggests trial and error which is the method I use now. I was hoping for tips and techniques to cut down on the amount of trial and error.Contains a wide variety of finish carpentry topics, door moldings, wainscoating, etc. Good reference manual.Wish each section had more details on compensating for the irregularities inherent in buildings and houses.

Saved my husband a whole lot of time and the trim really looks professional.

Helped me with remodeling a bedroom and it had everything I needed to know about trim.

compared with other books, this is more like a school text-book. not as many instructional illustrations and how-to's, and not as much detail on available styles, but tons of details on professional practices

I was hoping that the book would contain more specific tips and tricks for beginners. I find a lot of these do it yourself books are fairly generic and not really that helpful.

This is a great a book for those with a base knowledge of trim carpentry and would like to further their skills and productivity.
