Q: Does this board support registered memory?

No. The specifications are misleading. They say "Supports ECC and UDIMM", but they should say "Supports ECC and Non-ECC UDIMM"

Q: Are there still issues w/ the SE9230 Marvell controller?

At least on 12.04, the issues with the SE9230 appear to be fixed. I have been running tests with 2 drives on the 9230 for several months now (copying 2+ GB of data once an hour to the drive) and have had no issues with it.

Q: What does COLOR BOX mean in the description? Is there any difference from the retail version?

Color box = retail box, which includes Driver CD, SATA cables, User Manual, and I/O Shield. System Integrator prefer the Bulk package which is only the bareboard and the I/O Shield since they don't need the User Manual, and other standard accessories. Bulk Package cost lower but you have to get it through distributor, quantity may be required.

Q: Has anyone tried installing windows server 2012 r2 or windows server 2016 on this board? if so, anything not work?

Suggests you Google "c2750d4i dead" and see the numbers of articles within the last 3-6 months and decide if your main problem might be drivers compatibility.
