okay first of all id like to say that this novel highlighted EVERYTHING about how kunikida and dazai made the perfect duo; i love them SO much bro i swear

The cover came with a huge crease in the front which is not a happy sight to a collector like me, but thankfully the inside was in good condition. Besides the damage though, I love it!! I haven’t finished reading yet, but I’m really enjoying it so far! Being able to read about Kunikida and Dazai from between the Dark Era and the main series is super cool!! Dazai is my absolute favorite character so I’m always happy to see more of him 🥰 Kunikida also needs more love!! I’m really happy to see him as the main character! Love being able to hear all his inner thoughts :,)Something that surprised me though is that, if you’re reading this after watching the anime like me, this novel is actually what those two Azure Messenger episodes were based on! I find it so interesting that they took this prequel sort of story and integrated it into the main story and adding Atsushi. Glad it got animated though! They were really great episodes so I’m glad to revisit them again in this novel, but this time as Dazai’s entrance exam ^_^!Ah yes, I should also mention that just like the manga, abilities are translated as skills which is still really weird to me, but I can still read and enjoy it nonetheless. Dialogue is also way less awkward than the manga which sounds too formal and sometimes forced. Overall the translation isn’t SO bad, it just sucks the localization doesn’t match with the official English sub/dub of the anime 😕Overall, if you’re a huge fan of BSD like me I highly recommend picking this up!! It’s a really fun ride!

Would recommend for the bungo stray dogs light novel readers

Could it have been a smoother translation? Yes it could. Some words were difficult but if you keep in mind that the narrator is Kunikida....well it makes it easier to read. He’s a very proper person and a math teacher for heavens sake, so I can’t say I don’t see someone like him using the language that is used in this translation. It was over all an enjoyable read that gleaned more into the dynamic between him and Dazai. And no the anime episodes are not the same as the novel. So please read it, it’s worth the money.

I was a little leerly about purchasing this product because it looked like it was not the light novel since it was tagged on the same page as the manga. But rest assured knowing that the light novel is indeed the one that arrived.The translation is really smooth and it tells the story well while keeping the style in tack.Bungo Stray Dogs is a passion of mine and it is exciting to be able to read this book in English.

It arrived in great quality and it came right on time, but there was a little crease but I don't mind. So overall I love it!!

As a fan of Bungo Stray Dogs, I really enjoyed the light novel. My only gripe with it is that it kind of read like a fanfic, but it was still well written. The translations fine and it shouldn’t deter you from reading it

Me encanta Bungou Stray Dogs, tener esta primera novela en mis manos me hizo muy feliz. Llegó en muy buenas condiciones.

La novela es buena y la recomiendo mucho para empezar en bsd o si eres un gran fan, pero debes de considerar que el libro no llega en un muy buen estado, el mío llego con las bojas intactas pero la costilla y la contraportada están dobladas.Ese es el único problema con la compra.

This book is a must if you are a Dazai fan. It shows his entrance exam much better than the anime does. His relationship with Kunikida is really nice too. Plus you learn a tiny bit more about his ability.In general this is a good book with comedy and a hint of sadness (you probably won't cry).
