I am revising my previous review from 2-4 stars. It takes a couple weeks to try and adjust to a new shaver. At first my impression was cheap plastic construction and inexpensive shaving head. I have been using Braun for years but it cost over $200. Honest opinion is the $55 Remington shaves just as well but it takes a little longer. The end result is very good with a close shave and no skin irritation. Be sure to use electric shaver pre lotion to insure a clean well lubricated shave. It helps the shaver glide and lubricates the blades. So for the price of a Braun replacement head you can buy the Remington F5 shaver. UPDATE 60 Days: Now I have had a couple of months to use this shaver I would like to provide a couple more observations. I upgraded from 4 to 5 stars based on my shaving experience. Everyone’s face is a little different in terms of their facial hair. Some of you have course hair that requires shaving morning and afternoon. Others may shave once daily and a few lucky guys every other day. This shaver works great on any beard but may require a few more passes in some areas to get those uncooperative hairs. Patience is the key but the end result being a very smooth shave. The price of the shaver is a bargain compared to other foil shavers ie Braun. Ask you wife or girlfriend to feel the difference and if she enjoys a clean shaven guy then this is the shaver you want🌵

This is a robust shaver, micro-screen type, so it will take a few shavings to really assess its performance. It works really well when a pre-shaving lotion is used. I did not experience any undesired pulling and the quality of the shaving, although not the same as a classic razor blade, is of a reasonable quality. Cleaning is easy and the provided brush is adequate to the task. The only remaining item to comment about is charging time, but I am still shaving with the initial charge, as it came from the package (about 10 shaves already). And durability, of course...

This razor for the money cuts really close and is very good. The one thing you need to pay attention to the instructions is that I have soft stubbles and you have stretch your skin with your hand. The shave in small circular motions for it to get all the hair. This is provided in the product description and in instructions. If you do this you’ll be impressed for the money this shave provides I have no issue getting new replacement heads at all. This beats shaving with a razor and shaving with a clipper easily. And it’s also faster. One charge lasts a long time too and to preserve the battery make sure to fully drain by using it before each charge and the razor will not let you down. Don’t charge when it’s half way as it will make the battery not last as long. The indicator is nice and accurate on how much charge is left and the blades in the head are easy to clean with the provided brush. Make sure each shave to clean the heads with it and you’ll get a nice cut every time.

Ordered this to replace a Remington F3 electric razor I bought from Wallyworld 3 yrs back. So far, this razor is light years better, other than the flip up clippers which were better on the old razor. That's really not a con though because they work pretty good. The foil and long bear foil are so much better than the old one. This one shaves my face probably 2 minutes faster and really seems like it has a strong motor. That and it's $50+ dollars less than a Braun which reading reviews, seems to be a PIA to order new blades and foils. Remington blades and foils are pretty cheap and readily available. The old razor battery connector broke during rough handling in my luggage. I travel alot for work and rely on these to be operational when I get to my work destination. When I got back, I tried to solder the connector back on the battery and it worked for like 2 weeks but now the razor won't hold a charge.

I purchased this as a gift for an elderly man that can no longer use bladed razors due to being on blood thinners. He had a different style electric shaver prior to this, but even after a fresh shave, it left behind the rough feeling of stubble and minor skin irritations. This product is an amazing upgrade! Even on a dry face, it gave such a close and pain free shave! Just as clean as a real razor. I’m considering getting one for myself to use on my legs. The results were that smooth & impressive! After looking at so many options, I’m definitely happy with this choice.

I bought this razor five years ago, but it's time to move on. I keep buying replacement foil heads and they all have the same problem -- the adhesive used to hold the foil to the plastic of the head fails and the foil pops out. This has happened for the last four official Remington heads I've purchased. They usually last about three months, but the latest only lasted one month. I would advise anyone in the market for an electric shaver to price replacement heads before buying. Prior to recent experience I was satisfied with the shaver's performance. The shaves were decent, though never as close as the leading competitors. It did not irritate the skin. The battery lasted for five years of everyday use, but over the last six months has slipped to holding a charge for less than five days. The price of this shaver was lower than the competitors, but once you start paying for defective shaving blocks, the savings disappear.

This shaver works very well and gives a close, smooth shave. It feels comfortable on the skin and doesn’t cause irritation during use. The motor is strong and consistent. Battery life is good and it’s easy to clean after shaving. Solid product and very dependable for daily use.

it is difficult to find a shaver that can by used with external power source (plug in wall). most now have to be charged and run off battery (this one can do both). the problem is batteries have a finite life span so your charger will only last a couple years. i still have my old plug in rotary shaver that is over 30 years old and works fine, the problem is, the blades are getting dull. 3 replacement blades for my rotary shaver cost more than this new foil shaver. foil shavers work very well and theoretically do cut a bit closer than rotary, but they are louder. this is a quality brand, great value, and no brainer to buy if you need one and are frugal.

I was told this version of Remington buts the Brauns and Phillips to shame, and IT DOES. Great device for everyone who needs a clean look every day.
