AO American Optical Original Pilot Sunglasses Black 57mm Bayonet Temples

I bought my first pair of these after losing $100++ Ray-Bans. Honestly, I like these even better at less than 1/3 of the price. This is my second pair. Hints - the 52 mm would be for pretty narrow faces, 57 mm model seems much wider than you'd expect so for wide noggins. If you use this under a motorcycle helmet like I do, you can see a little reflection of the gold frames (my first pair) in your visor, so I recommend the black frame (what I got in this pair). Optics seem to be absolutely perfect.If you watch carefully, you'll see these in a lot of television, movies and advertising - the straight bayonet style is a give away.

I had these about a year and one of the bayonet mounts just broke off while I was wearing the glasses. I had to buy another pair, hopefully, these will last longer.

I purchased a pair of AO sunglasses at the North Island NAS, there was a scratch in the left lens when I purchased them. I forwarded the pair for warranty repair and AO refused to honor the warranty. I do not recommend AO eyewear as they do not follow up on their warranty claims. Go Randolph Engineering pilot sunglasses as RE does honor their warranty. I am now purchasing 120 pairs of RE sunglasses for our Squadron.K. OlsonCDR, US Navy

The design was exactly what I was looking for. It fits great and they are very comfortable to wear. The case smells really weird but other than that no complaints.

Let's face it, most sunglasses are bullsh#t. Either they cost $7 at the gas station and provide little real eye protection, or they cost $200 most of which is wasted $ that the company will then spend on marketing or branding or something. THESE sunglasses occupy that middle ground. Outstanding eye protection (these are what actual pilots usually wear) and they cost a reasonable amount.

Have intended to purchase this design of sunglasses for years. Although there was a problem with USPS, Urban Eyewear was extremely helpful to resolve the situation. The glasses are as described and not only do I plan on buying more I may even give as gifts. Recommend this product & company to all.
