April 2020: the month we officially became Cat People. A tiny white kitten was heard crying underneath a construction dumpster outside of my husband's office. He spent an hour trying to lure her to him with a paper bowl full of coffee creamer, but to no avail. After returning home and sharing his woe with me, off we went with our cat-familiar friend, determined to rescue the poor little thing. Upon our arrival at the dumpster, our used-to-cats friend bravely slid half her body across the dirty asphalt and under the dumpster to scoop the kitten up. One slightly bloody finger later, the kitten was safe and sound, wrapped in a towel. Little did we know that this tiny one-pound creature would make her claim on us in no time at all. Her name is Esther Cat, and she is a playful, funny, humble, nurturing beast. Soon after joining the family, she and one of our chihuahuas bonded, which pleased us very much. Lots of snuggling, playing, and grooming together. Only, as Esther grew, they played less and less. So, as a good cat owner, I bought her a robotic toy to keep her entertained. She absolutely loved it, so much it broke my heart. A robotic companion is just sad. Then the best thing happened. After three days, the robot gave up the ghost. What a mercy that this thing broke so quickly! The combination of her joy over having it, my sadness over watching her play with it, and it breaking almost immediately all came together in my mind to reveal to me that, eureka!, our CAT NEEDED ANOTHER CAT. And from that moment on, I began searching rescues in my area. Enter, Sylvie Cat. After three days of adjustment, Esther Cat and Sylvie Cat are two peas in a pod, a yin to a yang, true partners in cat crime. No toy or even pet could compliment Esther Cat the way another cat does, especially Sylvie Cat. And now our days are filled with the delightful shenanigans of our two hilarious, loving, playful cats. So yes, I will always be grateful that I bought this robotic toy, that seeing my cat play with it struck me as sadly pathetic, and that this ridiculous toy had the good manners to break right away, hastening my realization of a law of the universe itself: CATS NEED CATS. At least, Esther Cat needs Sylvie Cat, and this piece of junk played its part in helping me discover that : )

I have an old colony of kitties - they get to come into the house once each day for eats and play. They are the true experts on cat toys - they'll find any flaws within minutes or hours, and it takes something extraordinary to hold ALL of their attention!~ The MalsiPree Robotic Interactive Cat Toy passes every kitty test - with "flying" colors! They never tire of it, and it never fails to perform...it turns itself on and off throughout the day. It acts very - well....feline! It darts about unpredictably, hide, twirlss and pounces. It even learns! I love it as much as my kitties do - I even named it and have come to think of it as a unique little animal in its own right! Best of all, this interactive toy is DURABLE - it easily stands up to the rough play of TEN cats! Goes all day on a charge, taking its own breaks to conserve power. TERRIFIC! I'm thinking of buying one more....

This toy is definitely durable. It rolls over things like a mini monster truck. Lol! I love the option to have toy automatically turn itself off/on. This toy doesn't get stuck in corners, etc. like most of the electronic cat toys do. The sensors are great at moving it around. When it runs into something, it turns itself around. It's quiet - you don't hear the motor. This is a nice change from some of the loud electronic cat toys I've had over the years.The customer service is awesome! I had received a stick I couldn't use. I e-mailed the seller...they responded right away and made things right. And, they were nice about it.The toy is still new and my cats aren't sure what to make of it just yet. They mostly just follow it around. However, the stick with feather did disappear for a while, so one of them had pulled it out - meaning they played with it. My lil clowder is rather spoiled - always getting new toys. They need a lot of toys to keep them entertained. This toy is worth the money, even if only from the standpoint that it keeps their attention and stimulates their minds.

Was a bit disappointed with this toy. The quality seems to be good but the algorithm is awkward and doesn’t really engage cats.I won’t be returning the product but would not buy again.Pros:-Seems well made. I have not had any problems with the antenna breaking off and like the fact that an extra is included (and that they’re available separately).-There are multiple attachments for the antenna.-Compared to other similar toys I’ve tried, I appreciate how quite this one is. Often they are so noisy the sound scares the cat.-Rolled well over hardwood and electrical cords. Did not try on carpet.-Size is perfect. Small enough to go under couch.-The antenna is flipped around during the algorithm, which is nice.Cons:-largest complaint is the algorithm. It basically spins half the “cycle” spinning. Spinning very quickly! Then it has a long pause before starting back up. In all the cycle is: roll, spin, roll, spin, pause. Again, the spins are too often, too long, and too fast. There’s no way I can imagine a cat wanting to play with the toy while spinning. Because it’s so Jekyll & Hyde, my cat tends to watch it and only play with it during the pauses.Product would be amazing with a different algorithm.
