A good purchase for a good retro system

This cable works just fine on my Sega Genesis Model 1. However, the picture has more wavy lines and color distortion than I remember from composite connections in the past. Maybe I'm just not remembering how bad composite always looked.Also, note that (at least the Genesis Model 1) does NOT output stereo sound from the back connector. This has nothing to do with the cable. However, you can get true stereo sound from the stereo jack on the front of the Model 1. I decided to do this and let me tell you it DOES make a difference. Sonic the Hedgehog sounds way better in stereo.All in all, this cable does exactly what it is supposed to do... but I'm curious whether the cable could have been designed in a way that could further maximize the overall picture quality. I ended up buying an HDMI adapter later on because I just couldn't stand the ugliness of the old composite picture on my HDTV. If you don't have an HDTV or if an old-school composite signal doesn't bother your eyes, this cable is well worth the price.

I picked up this cable to test a Model 1 Sega Genesis on my old tube TV. This cable performed well in showing a picture and sound but the quality was awful. The colors looked terrible and there was a loud hum on the audio. It's possible that the Genesis console was sending a bad signal but I've had similar issues with other consoles.I would recommend anyone looking to play a Model 1 Sega Genesis today to find a better way to connect to a TV--modern or old. I wouldn't use this cable for anything beyond testing.

These Old Skool brand genesis cables are thicker than the tomee brand cables and have a noticeably cleaner picture quality! I have been using the tomee brand cables for a few years now and I immediately spotted the difference switching over to these old skool cables! These are the best composite cables you can buy for the Genesis model 1! Dont forget to pull stereo sound from the headphone jack in the front of your model 1 with a 3.5mm to RCA cable!

Ok for the money. Barely works.

I wasn't sure about this cable so i gave a shot ..once i plugged them in to test them and I didn't like the pictures quality slightly fuzzy they had 2 thick static lines on top and middle of screen..you pay a little and you get what you paid for..see first picture for quality of old skool cable..and on second picture is the official cable for sega model 1 and looks better and little bit more sharper and paid a little more for these..so I don't recommend old skool cables
