Kind of Strange
I don't leave many reviews but so many were great for this book (which led me to buy it) that I wanted to share a different perspective. I thought this book was strange. The point is kinda vague, the rhythm and rhyme are frustratingly inconsistent meaning about the time you think the writer has established a rhythm to the writing, it stops. This may not bother some people but as a writer/editor I found it a frustrating read. Sometimes it rhymed, sometimes it didn't, again, this frustrates me--either rhyme or don't. The meaning that people raved about I really didn't find. I thought the flute holes that form in his face were just kind of odd and not particularly inspiring or joyful as far as Christmas books go. I don't like leaving reviews, especially sub-par ones, but I wanted to share a different perspective. I hope this helps you in your Christmas book search. If you like the idea of this book, try "Snow Dog", it is similar in concept but a much better story.

These do NOT ever arrive at the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus
I bought the 3 book bundle expecting they would, in a new, fun and interesting way, teach that “Jesus Is The Reason For The Season.” They may present a moral aspect of Christmas, but they don’t even MENTION Jesus. If you, as a parent, Grand parent or Great Grandparent are hoping to give your child a superior way to know and understand Jesus and his birth on this earth, save your money here. I am less than impressed in almost every way with these little books. Would return but we are having our Christmas on Thanksgiving, so not enough time. They don’t teach anything wrong or negative, just simply do NOT deliver what was promised in the advertising!

The best Christmas book in years!
I purchased the book because the illustration on the cover reminded me of the old kind snowman illustrations in our generation's books. It turned out to be even better! My daughter couldn't be happier with this gift! When I read it to her, it really feels like Christmas for both of us. Such a kind book with beautiful art.

Such a sweet story
I ordered this book for my granddaughters, but of course I wanted to read it before giving it to them. It’s such a sweet story and an easy read. The rhythm flows, and the rhyming words add so much to the story. Yes, I would recommend this book.

I thought it was a little pricey being that I am 80 and on a fixed income but it was worth the read.
I thought it was a beautiful story. After I read it, I gave it to a friend who has three children and two foster children.

Higher-level vocabulary than young children can recognize
Sweet story of a snowman who wants to sing and a kind little girl. But the author doesn't seem to have thought through who her audience will be. The high pictures-to-words ratio would make it suitable for a preschooler or early schooler, but the vocabulary is closer to middle school range. If you don't mind being interrupted to explain what a "whirling thought air" or "unique psalm" are, by all means read it to your little one. The color pictures pretty much make a tablet required.

Quality is great! The story not so much
I read many reviews praising this book, and a few stating that the rhyming was sporadic and bothersome. So I found this book used and bought it. The quality is fantastic! And I like the illustrations. They are beautiful. I was disappointed with the story though. The rhyming starts out really nice then randomly a page didn't rhyme and doesn't flow. It drove me a bit crazy. The story is long too and beats around the bush. It had potential to be a really cute and touching story but fell short. My son lost interest 5 pages in (he is 3). So if you don't mind a book that starts out told in rhymes and then randomly doesn't every so often, you'll probably enjoy this book. As for me, I'm glad I found it used for a few dollars and didn't pay pull price.

Loved it
Perfect children's book I thought it was amazing. My children loved it the pictures were amazing! Just because it free does not mean it is bad. It is a lovely quick story book and is written in a poem. Couldn't have more Christmas cheer.
