Easy to install, service, light, smooth, relatively stiff, and reasonably priced. In combination with FSA gossamer crankset, it's a perfect replacement for outdated square taper setup.

Installed easily enough but like so many external bottom brackets with "sealed" bearings it doesn't last very long nor do they spin as easily as loose bearings. I'm on my third as they only hold up to one year of year round riding here in the Pacific Northwest. This problem is hardly unique to FSA but is more of a built-in flaw to using cartridge bearings which have only simple lip seals to keep the elements at bay. It makes me long for the old days when you had a loose bearing bottom bracket that could easily last 10 years provided you disassembled and cleaned it once a year.

This BB is pretty much your only option if you have a BSA frame but want an 386evo crank. I have no issues with its performance. I have over 300 miles on mine, and it is completely smooth and silent. The reason for the 4 star rating is first, the BB itself is quite expensive (compared to the Shimano Dura Ace BB9000) and you will need a new, larger BB tool. Second, this BB weighs 87g vs 65g for the BB9000. In the end, you won't save any money or weight with an FSA SL-K Light + megaevo BB vs DA9000 crank and BB or Sram Red Crank and GXP BB.

One of the bearings is a little rough
