OFUIL was way better
One of us is lying can be taken as the first part of this book but if you plan on reading this book individually, it also works. But I believe that one of us is lying was the best work of the author. That book is way better than this. The story talks about a Truth or Dare game turned into a nightmare when one of the student of a High school dies at a construction site. And how people find out who started it and blame the party.

Better sequel
One of Us is Next comes as a compelling sequel to One of Us is Lying. The first book’s ending was ridiculous to me, not realistic and I just didn’t like it. However, the sequel was really interesting and there were times when I was surprised at the turn of events. The sequel starts off with a dangerous game of Truth or Dare which an anonymous person who apparently takes inspiration from Simon Kelleher’s moves. It takes a toll on the lives of Bayview’s students and it doesn’t take long before things get very serious. We follow a different set of characters, few of who are familiar. While I felt that the first book was childish at times, the sequel didn’t disappoint me. It stayed pretty much realistic. The pairing of new couples is cute too. I felt that it was not unnecessarily lengthy which was the case in the first book. Instead, it was written to the point.
