A must see for any wolfman fans
This version of the Wolfman is so good. Acting was superb, lots of gore and I highly recommend it. Watch the unrated version, you get to see the great Max Von Sydow and a lot of scenes that aren’t in the theatrical version.

Good Movie. Definitely Worth The Watch
Well, that was an excellent remake. I love Lon Chaney and Del Toro brings that meloncoly, brooding darkness and mystery just like Chaney. This movie is definitely a dark Gothic flick. I can't believe it is by far better than the original. Hands down a good movie. To make a werewolf movie is a challenge. Because they tend to be campy or just awful or very outdated. Not this one. Excellent watch with a very good backstory without going into so many back stories you can't follow. There's the present story and Lawrence's history. It's intense and exciting at times. Some good action too.A few good kill scenes. The gore isn't overdone. They convey the point without getting into all the effects of showing the gore.

Very scary!
I had seen this movie before, but it had been a long time and I wanted to watch it again. Sometimes when I am in a blue funk or recovering from an illness, I like to lay on the couch and watch a really scary movie, like Wolfman or Frankenstein or zombie attack or something like that. Anyway, I was in that sort of mood so I ordered up the wolf man. I’ll tell you I like that scene Where they have the Wolfman in his un transformed state tied to that chair in the lecture hall with all those fine gentlemen watching. That is so hilarious when he transforms and they are all trying to get out of that room. There is a lot of sadness and truth in that however and so you had better be prepared for that.

A beast of a movie and transfer!
The Wolfman (2010) having been panned by critics and audiences on its original theatrical release, is finally finding the love it deserves on 4K UHD.And rightly so, because it's a fantastic movie that honours the original classic monster movie. The acting is outstanding from it's all star cast, the cinematography captures the gothic tone beautifully and the award winning CGI effects, albeit a little dated now is mixed with practical effects from none other than Rick Baker (can you spot his blink or you'll miss it cameo?)This 4K transfer from Scream Factory is hands down one of best of 2024, the inclusion of HDR and Dolby Vision gives the movie a new lease of life, with the darkest scenes now so much clearer to see.The colours are vivid and pop like never before and film grain is natural and never overpowering. The best part however is the new Dolby Atmos mix, the reference quality sound will blow your mind. You've never heard this beast howl quite like this before! The dialogue is crisp and is solid throughout, and is never undermined by the fantastic music by Danny Elfman or the well executed sound effects. This is an essential purchase, 10/10.

Not As Bad As Some People Say, But Not Great Either!!
Benicio Del Toro plays the ill-fated Laurence Tolbert (sp?), who getsbitten savagely by a strange beast in the dark & misty forest one nightand eventually becomes a werewolf. One of the mythical lycans...dreaded creatures of the night. They used alot of the old period story, but embellishments weremade here and there of course to update things slightly technology-wise,while keeping that dark murky 19th Century British vibe intact.Sir Anthony Hopkins plays Tolbert's father, who, as the film progresses, reveals a few secrets of his own. (-:Visually, I found this movie entertaining enough...there's plenty of gore, blood, disemboweled entrails, ripped out throats and ripped off heads! But overall there was just something missing.....as in REAL PASSION inthe story-telling, acting, directing, editing. I watched the unrated director'scut, which I assume is the director's unedited vision without interferencefrom the studio brass. But I'm afraid I wasn't terribly impressed!IMO, this movie was another case of a good cast, good crew, otherwise goodproducer and director, who somewhere got lost in the sauce and the film gotmuddled in places. Other places are bursts of brilliance of what this film could've been.Emily Blunt's character provides the softness and motherlove to the tragicLaurence Talbot, and alas, is the one who delivers him from historment in the end. I must say the best scenes were towards the endbetween Del Toro and Hopkins! Also, the scenes earlier in the gypsy campas well as in the asylum...KILLER!! (-:My final advice would be to rent it first, and then if it's yourcup of tea, by all means, buy it!It's not as bad as some try to make it out to be....but it's merely okay at the end of the day.
