It's alright, for the only thing out there.
I just took the CSET a few days ago after having read & annotated this Mometrix book. For the most part, it covers the standards, framework, and key {words, concepts, terms}. The book's layout however is pretty drab & uninspiring. Specifically, it's all done in one bland, boring font, there are no italics, only bold print for key terms; there's no clear sequence from one small section to the next--just page after page of text; there are no diagrams, graphs, charts or photos; and the information is condensed sometimes into mechanical writing & phrasing for the sake of brevity. However, I know how to study, so I dug in, annotated & highlighted, did the sample Qs & followed up on my incorrect answers, then went online & went deeper for explanation of certain concepts & acronyms, so, I consciously wrung the Mometrix book out for all of its salient & useful info-preparation. Check the CSET site for the preparation materials & you'll find the pdfs for the Standards K-12 as well as the Framework for P.E.. Go online & subscribe to some channels about Physical Education, I found some playlists that were really informative and the viewing gives a nice break from the reading. How'd I do on the exam? Poor to moderate. The phrasing of some questions is damning: it's so subtle & 'nit-picky' with the multiple choice, there were many questions that I could've gone either way on an answer for. The Mometrix prep book didn't really sync up with what I saw on the exam, as far as sample questions go, but I think this is more due to the CSET exam board just making each exam uniquely different & challenging. BTW, I studied History in college, so I'd no formal schooling around Phys Ed. I grew up with sports & martial arts, then dance, and I've been substitute teaching for some years now, and so I'm in the process of credentialing & want to focus on a subject that fosters health, fitness, & activity. I recommend to give enough consideration to whether or not you wanna take all three subtests at once (like I did): the time crunch is a real factor! I missed an entire constructed response on one subtest because I spent too much time on the response prior to it. So--good luck. I'll probably hafta retake mine. It's a hard test for it's crafty wording, it's damnable multiple-choice format, and the limit of both words & time for the constructed response. This Mometrix book'll be a solid start but you'll have to study outside of it as well.

bolded headings
I really like the way it's put together with the bold headings for each section. Also, the bolded words highlight important words to know! The explanations for the CSET practice test at the end of the study guide is very helpful because, even though we may have answered incorrectly, the explanation helps to understand why.

Decent review book
This book does a decent job of providing the basic information that reviews the knowledge needed for passing the Cset. What it didn’t do, is provide any context to all of the information learned from the book. So, if you’re like me and new to the physical education curriculum, start with this book, and then find other books which complement the curriculum that give actual understanding to the curriculum and not just a basic understanding with definitions and the like.

Concise - Not too much “fluff”
So far the material looks straight forward and concise. The book seems to be well laid out & organized.

Very Helpful!
The study material is condensed in a good way that's easy to understand. I really like the study and test taking strategies in the beginning. I struggle with test taking anxiety so it's helpful for me to have ways to counteract that.
