Fantastic pen, especially at the price
This is my 5th cross pen, and undoubtedly my favorite thus far. First thing to note about me. Although I use a computer for 90 percent of my day to day functions, I write a lot by hand. And almost always with a pen. I use either felt tip or fountain pens the majority of the time. I enjoy the process of writing, so a good pen is quite important to me. I was a little apprehensive of this pen due to the perceived bulkiness of the pictures. I usually like a sleek style because I enjoy the feeling of having more control over the tip. From a design standpoint, I think the pen is quite beautiful. I was tempted to go with the blue, but went with the all back option and have been quite happy. My first use of the pen was a little underwhelming. The writing style was great, but I felt like the pen was doing the writing, vs my fingers (if that makes any sense). After several days, however, I began to notice that I need less force and my fingers were barely holding onto the pen as I wrote. And while I still am getting use to the large size, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience ever since.

I have bought other more expensive pens and this pen just feels amazing in your hand
Pictures do not do this pen justice. I have bought other more expensive pens and this pen just feels amazing in your hand. Don't listen to other people who say this pen is to light; if you write a lot you don't want to have a heavy pen making your hand tired. The blue is beautiful. The nib is smooth, and if polished on a fine nail shiner, it becomes as smooth as ice melting. This is by far my favorite writing instrument. No skipping, no biting the paper, even flow while writing fast or slow. You can write with either side of the nib; use the front side for normal writing and the backside for fine writing. The same pen will cost you more than $100 US in any pen store or on the Cross website, but this is the same pen! Very worth it! But I do suggest buying a converter, because the Cross disposable ink cartridges are a bit expensive. Having the converter will also help to balance the weight. My father also has this pen in the pearl white color and it is beautiful. Buy this pen and you won't be disappointed!

Economy Model of Cross Pen, But Has a Specific Purpose - Just Dont Expect the Ink to Last
Not particularly expensive and not a particularly 'fine' pen (although it's sturdy and certainly functional). For me it's perfect for me since I wasnt looking for an expensive pen. Quite the opposite. I was looking for a pen for a special purpose on which I didnt need to spend too much money. About the 'specific purpose": I simply need a slightly larger pen with the weight due to nerve damage. For that reason I have had one of these in my pocket since 2018. Incidentally, I cant find much of a difference between the ATX and Calais versions except in style where the clip attaches to the barrel or plunge. Depending on where you look, the price could be nearly identical with the same refill for both, but the Calais averages about $4 US cheaper. One issue... the ink. I dont know why, but the ink refills vary in quality and longevity. The last one I ordered lasted about two weeks. Another I've had since 2018 still works. It's just not consistent. However, I'd be petty to rate the Cross ATX pen as 3/5 for that fact. I'll keep using the Cross ATX, since it has a special purpose for me. But I cant actually recommend this to anyone else who doesnt need a larger weighted pen. JHA

Almost as nice as Crosses Year of the Animal Chinese Horoscope Pen Series.
Since people may like the very similar Horoscope series, I will also add that description afterwards. This particular Cross pen has a nice brushed metal finish and feels comfortable in the hand. It is really a bargain for almost everyone. If one can find one that is a Warehouse item, even better. It makes a great gift for some kids that are going to College or someone who writes alot. It makes even a good present to gift to yourself. For those who want a bit more style here is my review for the very similar Horoscope Cross series: ...I have a modest, yet somewhat amazing pen collection that goes from the modest Crosses to the top Monteblanc solid two-tone gold pen. Sadly, some are just not that practical, but this Cross is. It is not that expensive to keep at home, but it is still a beautiful clean writing pen that one can proudly carry around. Just be careful that no one steals it away. This pen series often may come with the presentation box, which while cool, decays with age...so it is not worth the extra price premium. Some of the ones in this series I bought either from the Amazon Warehouse or on Ebay. They are all nice. I do stick with the Ballpoints and some Roller Balls. The standard Cross pen refills fit fine. Do not get cheap generic refills that can leak and damage these pens. If one knows someone who likes getting gifts that go by the year of the Chinese Horoscope &/or are Asian, these can be treasured for sure. You really cannot go wrong for these pens which typically can run from $100 to $200. While not collectable, they are fun and practical pens. Enjoy!...

An excellent fountain pen that looks great and writes well
After the making the mistake of purchasing a Dryden fountain pen, I purchased this Cross ATX and my frown turned into a big broad smile! I love writing with his pen, it's so smooth and it just feels like words appear on paper effortlessly. This is a time-tested classic pen from a company that knows how to make pens. Did you know that the president of the United States is been signing bills into law using a Cross pen for decades? When they say the pen is truly mightier than the sword, they are talking about Cross pens. The main thing is the price is right for an all metal construction, highly attractive pen.

This pen was bought as a gift and I had it engraved. It looks stylish, classy and was greatly appreciated. Beyond that, I can't say much more; that's up to the recipient.
