Brainerd 64410 Beaded Single Duplex Outlet Wall Plate / Switch Plate / Cover, Venetian Bronze

Let me first share that if I could have saved the original switch plates, I'd have bathed them in some Rust-Oleum hammered paint and you wouldn't be reading this. Alas, the switch plates in the kitchen were mismatched and crappy to begin with, so here you are.When helping to remodel my mother-in-law's kitchen last month, I was SHOCKED to see how much mula people dish out for a switch plate. Unless you want a very basic and crappy plastic switch plate, be prepared to pay. Let me outline some of my needs and how this product addressed it.The price was very important, because I'm all about budget DIY, and I'd rather spend money elsewhere in a remodel. Also, we had a large number of plates we needed, so that upped the need for a good deal. The price point for these was unbelievable compared to anything you could find in Home Depot, Lowes, or other online retailers.The switch plate design was extremely important, because the plugs and switches are in the middle of the wall. (Who does that BTW?) So, that means you see the switch plate no matter where you are in the room. Also equally important was durability. These need to hold up to children, adults (who enjoy Macallan 12 and J Lohr wine), and clumsy men (seriously, my MIL came home to yellow mustard stains on the kitchen floor and counter one day. How do you get mustard stains on the floor, and how do you leave it there?!) These are beautiful. Seriously, we couldn't believe how awesome they look. I have this game I play where I asked my boyfriend, "guess how much these/this cost?" They were "appraised" for much more than the purchase price.(The living room switch plates were a beautiful shaped dingy brass. They got a Rust-Oleum bath, and they're to die for.)

I love this. I bought the dark brown outlet to go with it and it blends nicely. When this was first sent to me, it was the wrong item. This was replaced super fast and it looks so nice.I can't be happier with the combination of everything in our small guest restroom. These match beautifully and the space looks like a million bucks. These look great. I ordered them twice through Lowe’s and they were out of stock so I ended up paying almost twice as much on Amazon because I needed them right away. If you can wait try Lowe’s or wait for a significant price drop.

I am beyond pleased with both the quality and design of this wall plate! Elegant, yet understated, it fits in seamlessly with our decor. My wife and I were going for a classic looking bedroom with a touch of french provincial. These wall plates compliment our gilded mirror very nicely, and the beading matches our crown moulding perfectly!Obviously, they are very easy to install, and the quality is far better than your usual wall plate. It is important to note, that these are not actually antique, nor are they made of brass. They are made of zinc, and the finish is imitated. That said, you're going to pay a LOT of money for true vintage/antique hardware and this is an excellent alternative. I should also point out that the color is very similar to what I see on my screen - the majority of people don't have calibrated screens (no offense) and are then surprised when actual items look different in person. Either way, these aren't too gold, and I was happy for this!I would highly recommend ANY of these tumbled brass plates - my wife and I LOVE them!

First off, I now have spent about $100 on these in all sizes including a big 4 toggle switch plate cover. I like these but don't love them. While they are definitely high quality/heavy weight "artsy" wall plate covers, they are somewhat different than the picture. In the picture, I see(barely) a bit of black patina/paint in the beaded border. But what I received has a black brushed patina covering all of the main area, sort of. Each of my dozen and a half plates varies. Many of my plates look very different from the picture - lots of black! The best way I can describe these would be "antique nickel" - a distressed weathered look. This isn't bad, it's just not what I would buy in person...I mistakenly thought I was buying brushed nickel - with a decorative beaded effect... I searched for brushed nickel and this was what showed up - with glaring reviews...But I have since learned that these aren't even nickel - they're pewter. That's no big deal, at least based on this picture, they look like what I wanted. Only after opening several and trying them out for a few days we really started to notice just how different these really are from the picture plus how much they vary...but ended up feeling stuck with them. Turns out I forgot about a couple outlets and ended up discovering that Lowes carries them but not at the good price Amazon has them...Interestingly, the "patina" at Lowes is much less with theirs' and they also had a "nickel" switch plate we would have prefered, had we to do it over. Having said all that, we do like what we have, they've grown on us and with the $100+ bucks committed, we're committed. I'd call them artsy, vs. modern. My advice, look at these in person at Lowe's FIRST.
