Good for what I need it for
I wanted a way to keep my rifle close, hidden, and safe. This does the job. I haven't had a chance to mount it to the floor, but I can tell you that the hardware supplied won't likely fit the bill. I realized the screws are too short to pass through the safe, the carpet, the pad, and into the subfloor. I just went to Lowes and got 1/4" x 2" lag screws, which are slightly thicker and longer. I confirmed the mounting holes will support that size. Getting to the holes is a tight fit because you access them through a door at the back of the drawer.Note: The package box does say "Under Bed Safe" on the outside, so if you have nosy neighbors, be mindful. Also, this is a heavy package, at least 60-80lbs. I pushed mine up the stairs, but a two man carry would be advised. There isn't really any assembly involved, it comes whole.Instructions are clear for first time access and code setting. 4 x AA batteries required. The keys are not backlit, but they are soft rubber and easy to press. The code is displayed on the screen as you type it. Keypad sounds can be turned on or off. The padding inside is adequate; I don't foresee anything getting scratched. Once the code is accepted, you turn the bezel to disengage the bolts, and a mild spring action pushes the drawer slightly open. There is a tiny LED that illuminates the inside of the drawer. I have not tested it in the dark to see if its at all effective. There is plenty of room for a carbine length rifle, along with some other things, depending on how you arrange them. There are two straps that can secure the rifle.I don't have experience with safes of this purpose, but I would guess that a true safe is much heavier than this. But those are upright safes, not easily hidden. Since this one will be mounted to the floor under the bed and hidden, I don't see how someone would easily breach this. The drawer engages the body with two large bolts on either side.Compared to other options, I found this to suit my needs. Price was decent, and delivery was quick. Just understand that if you intended to mount it to the floor, you need to make a trip to the hardware store for a couple of bucks worth of hardware.

You get what you pay for
Just got this today from Amazon. I'm glad I saw the delivery driver pull up, because the box was clearly labeled, and I'd prefer that passersby not know that I'm bringing a big, heavy safe into my house to store valuables. The tape on top of the box was almost entirely ripped, too. Such a heavy item needs heavier-duty tape to keep it closed as it's being thrown around when shipped.Several of the corners and the drawer door were dented, with the paint chipped off. I don't think this was from shipping, because the box itself didn't look damaged in these areas. The heft of the safe is assuring, but I'm skeptical of how long the electric keypad and opening knob will last, because the knob feels a bit flimsy compared to a smaller Sentry safe I've had for two decades. There's supposed to be a battery cover, but mine didn't come with one. When I went to the website to submit my info for the warranty, I mentioned this and the other issues, but when I clicked Submit, a popup had text in Chinese that I couldn't read and didn't send me to another screen, so I don't know if it was an error/warning, or if my warranty form was properly submitted. However, I got an immediate reply after emailing the company asking for the battery cover.I chose this safe mainly because of price and size (and positive Amazon reviews): I didn't want to spend a lot of money or get something that was too big for my needs. If you just want to keep a few items away from your kids—and hopefully thieves—this safe is probably fine for most uses. But if you want a high quality gun safe that will last a lifetime and arrives to you in perfect condition, you might be better off spending considerably more.

Perfect fit for my 2003 AM General Hummer H1
I had been looking for well over a year for a truck vault to keep my firearms locked up while in travel, but it had to fit my 2003 AM General Hummer H1. I looked at those two big name brands but no matter what the fit was just not perfect, there was too much room left on each side so once something rolled in there there was no way I was getting it out, not to mention the cost was easily seven to eight times the price for this Under Bed Safe, Rapid Gun Storage Safe Drawer Safe for AR Rifle Ammo Pistol Accessories for Home and Vehicle (XXL(46.8" W x 15.6" D x 6.7" H). I was just about ready to ship my truck out to Ohio for a custom install and then I saw this unit which fits perfectly side-to-side in the front of the wagon area, it does not take up too much room and I can fit what I need in there, it is a huge saving, was easy to install and it is absolutely perfect.

Very nice!
Arrived perfect! Not a scratch!Key is laser cut. Not a horrible key lock but one thing I will upgrade.Keypad feels decent. Knob you turn to unlock feels rigid.Backside of electronics is behind a removable panel. Drawer feels ok. Trap door in the back of inner tray is great. Padding will work. One thing I noticed a few pics of others reviews, and they were using the included straps. I removed these, as they are only for if you plan to mount this lockbox in a vehicle, to keep things from moving around. The included safety strap is a cool addition. Their is 2 holes drilled in the bottom and 2 holes drilled in the back, and it came with hardware to mount. The light on the inside is great. When you unlock the electronic keypad the inner light turns on and will time out. Great feature.Their is 2 locking lugs, one on each end of the drawer. Front end fitment appears to be relatively tight and equal. Locking lugs feel properly aligned and bind free. The casing feels kinda light duty. For the price I am happy with it.Also wanted to note their is a 3rd locking lug I missed originally It’s under the bottom of the drawer. The interior lights is in for about 20 seconds. Is their a way to program it to run longer?
