Great game
Great old school game that requires one to think and use process of elimination to problem solve and figure out the answer.

One of my favorite board games
One of the best board games. I used to play this with my father when I was a kid. Finding this again and remembering it was an absolute gem. There’s just something overall nostalgic about this addictive game.

Sometimes your brain hurts trying to figure out the code! Challenging and fun!
My family loves this game. It challenges the mind and it is fun to see the different family members strategies for unlocking codes! The adults, of course, can play it and find that it is NOT a piece of cake! The younger members of the family can play as well. The teens do great, Nine may be the youngest for this game, but I could be wrong. We have an 8 year old Down Syndrome child who is rather high functioning and, while he can play Connect Four, Skip-Bo and some others of that type, this is a bit too difficult for him right now.. Our typical six year old, who is very sharp, can't either. But our ten year old plays it very well. The down side to this particular version is that some of the playing pieces are very small for adult hands to manipulate. Also, the compartment in the case that the pieces are kept in does not quite have enough room for everything to fit into snugly.

This is a fun game for those who like strategy.
Mastermind is a code breaking game. It's quick and easy to learn but can be difficult to win. I had this game as a kid and bought it for my kids. We have had it over a year now and they still play it, unlike many other games I have purchased. How to play: One person sets up the code (code master) using colored pegs. The other person (code breaker) needs to break the code in less than 10 tries to win. The code master lets the code breaker know if she/he has the correct colored pegs in the correct order each round. The code breaker has 10 chances to break the code. If the code breaker figures it out he/she gets a point, if not the code master gets the point. Then players switch sides and scores can be kept on the board for most wins. This board is constructed of plastic as well as the pegs.States it is for ages 8 and up. This is pretty accurate as I think it may be a little difficult for younger kids to have this much strategy. I don't think there is an age where someone outgrows the game. Keep in mind, this game has a ton of small pieces that can be lost or put in the mouth. This is something to keep in mind if purchasing for a gift.

Great game. Wife ordered it for our 9 yo for Xmas, but even our 7 yo learned quickly and the whole family can play.

Perfect game for the value.
I recently discovered the classic version of this game through my brother. I immediately went to purchase this and was a little hesitant because of the top reviews (from 2017) stating how low quality this product is. I think, maybe, at the time, the product may have been lower quality but the version that I received was everything I hoped it would be. It's light, compact, and easy to store and play. For the price you pay, I think the product delivered was perfect.I would like to see the Top Reviews fall off so other opinions can move to the top because I'm sure the makers have learned from their mistakes and created a better product.I will say, my one drawback is the size of all the pieces. I'm constantly in fear that dropping one is gonna cause it to fall into the abyss of lost toys and game pieces, but I haven't lost a piece yet. This game is a fun and entertaining experience and if you just want a quick brain teaser, I'd say this game is the one for you and a friend or family member.
