Quality-Built 15844N Import Starter

I had to replace the alternator in my niece's 1999 Maxima. All that was available locally was rebuilt units so that is what we bought. The local shop got in the wrong unit and took another day or two to get the right unit. Six months later the rebuilt unit started cutting out and the battery would drain. After futzing about with the alternator for a day or two because I couldn't believe it was dead again, I decided to replace it. This unit was available and was cheaper than the corresponding rebuilt units. The problem with so many rebuilts is there is some other fault waiting to happen that the rebuild did not address. This alternator matched up and installed without a hitch. It is working well and I will update the review if there is any type of early failure.

Delivery was exceptionally fast! 2 days!Packaging kept the alternator well protected. Not overall too large of a box.Mechanics manual gave the job 2.5 hours, I'd like to consider my mechanic ability average at best! With that said, it took exactly 2.5 hours to complete per ManualPlease note, I buy and sell cars as a second income and although I don't drive the said vehicle I due start it almost everyday and take a DC reading with my voltmeter. Each & everytime I get 14.3VDC.

This is a good match for my '99 Maxima 3liter engine. Only required a very small refab to the plastic molded power cable after having mounted the alternator in the car. Otherwise a great fit!

I decided to buy an alternator from amazon instead of Rockauto because amazon had quicker shipping. this was a mistake. The alternator arrived a day late and stopped working 6 hours after being installed. The alternator was not charging the battery. We took the alternator out of the car and found loose screws on the inside! If you are going to buy this product make sure every thing is tight on the inside. After tightening the screws the alternator appears to be charging. I learned my lesson and will stick to Rockauto for car parts.UPDATE:I bought this on August 16th, 2017. Almost exactly 1 year later and the alternator has seized and the pulley wont turn. I will need to replace again.

My last Remanufactured alternator lasted less than a year. It is hard to find a brand new replacement like this one. I am glad I did. I purchased on Amazon and took it to a local mechanic to install it. I saved a bundle and got my wish - new alternator put in. It has been several months now and it works great.

Works fine for ~3 months in 2006 Murano but noisy. Will update in a year or so if I keep the car that long.

So far so good! I purchased this for my son and he installed it. So far, it is working great, no issues. This alternator was cheaper than my local auto zone

Affordable, easy to install and my 02 Maxima rides like a new car.
