I was looking for a supplement for my fertility journey and landed on these as there website references Endometriosis which I have. I took these supplements for 9 months before I had my egg collection and ended up with 7 day 5 embryos. My consultant was very impressed with this result as I've previously had extensive surgery on both ovaries due to Endometriosis. I am now pregnant following my first transfer. If you look into Ovum as a company they have a fantastic ethos and this product is great quality with the majority of what you need for TTC/IVF for a very fair price.

Ok this is going to be quite long so be warned!However feel free to save yourself time and just order because there’s zero reasons not to!My partner and I have been on our infertility journey for around 5 years and it’s hard, really hard, like you can’t even put into words how hard. Just one of the many elements of it involves supplements. Despite our years of experience going through this and ridiculous amount of googling, following Facebook group asking advice, the silly amount of books purchased and the several specialists brains that have been picked it’s actually near on impossible to know for sure just what supplements you should be taking. Obviously everyone and their needs differ but as a baseline for supplements it’s so hard to know if you’re doing the right thing. Even if you think you’ve sussed out the right combo you then worry about what time of day to take them, with food, without food, will certain foods affect them etc. Add in the times when you forget to take them and you become completely and utterly stressed out by it all (not a great thing when trying to conceive!).Then just to make it worse you start to learn things, things you didn’t even know were a thing. Many supplements are inferior, they may be filled with bulking agents, they may not actually supply you with the required doses, in fact quite often they are pretty useless.Cue Ovum!Now I was very reluctant to try this. I stumbled across it by chance, someone posted about them in a Facebook group so I did some digging and they seemed too good to be true. So I took a screen grab so I wouldn’t forget them and decided to look again when my current supplements were coming to an end.I wish I’d ditched my others straight away because when I properly looked into Ovum it was clear they knew exactly what they were talking about. What they suggested to be the main supplements needed fell into line with what I was already taking, they know their stuff, it took me 5 years to figure it out and I still wasn’t sure!The thought of just taking three pills together once a day, whenever I chose to, with or without food had huge appeal. No more having to remember to take different things at 3 different times of the day or carry a pill pot around with me every time I went out all the while watching the clock. Just 3 pills and you’re done!Also my supplements had been coming from 3 different suppliers and I was always worried something would be out of stock. I would order a few months worth at a time putting a strain on my bank balance just to be sure I wouldn’t run out.The price point of Ovum may initially seem high to some but if you’re already taking all the high quality ingredients included in ovum then you’ll likely be saving yourself a considerable amount of money if you switch. I was talking a very well known brand of co-enzyme and they alone per month cost me almost the same as a months supply of Ovum! It really was a no brainier.The thing is it doesn’t stop there, the people that created Ovum are also incredible. The website put me at ease, they really know what they’re talking about. Plus what they are doing comes from the heart, they completely understand their target audience and they genuinely care. I can confirm this because when I had a slightly random question I contacted them with a comical email and they came back at me with such a funny yet still professional response. I really feel like they are on my side and genuinely want this to work for me, it’s definitely not just about making money. Plus the email reply actually came from one of the founders, it doesn’t get any more personal than that!I’m now around 6 weeks into taking Ovum and I feel very confident they are doing me the world of good. It’s so much easier to take these in one go and then forget about my supplements until the next day, I feel like a weight has been lifted and in any sort of fertility struggles any reduction in stress and responsibility is a huge win.I can just place an order once a month and know Ovum will take care of the rest.The supplements come in a glass bottle, are vegan friendly and are not tested on animals, seriously what’s not to like!Check out their website for yourself if you need more convincing. I’ve only just started taking Ovum and I would highly recommend! The capsules are easy to swallow and contain great vitamins to support with reproductive health!

- Update to previous review - 8/9 months in and still not pregnant, for the price these are very expensive to not give results. I've changed to a cheaper alternative. Conceive plus gives the same things but is half the price.The package says it takes up to 3 months for the product to actually work properly & impact your egg reserves so I'm not giving up hope yet, however I am now 6 months in using the product and still no sign of pregnancy. I do find you need to take the supplements with food or not too close to laying down, I've noticed a correlation between very severe heartburn (which I've never had in my life before) and taking these so just make sure you take with food etc.One thing I would add though is that the packaging is a brilliant glass bottle and great for the environment but it comes shrink wrapped in plastic and then surrounded in bubble wrap. I do understand the fact they need it to be safe and secure but perhaps think more sustainably?

I'd originally gave this 3 stars because it gave me indigestion and a delayed period. Not what you want when trying to conceive for 15 months as I was convinced I was pregnant! Was really disappointed because I hadn't found another supplement that had all the essential vitamins recommended by It Starts With the Egg. It did lengthen my luteal phase from 12 to 15 days though but I couldn't put up with the digestive issues at the time (and that was only on two capsules per day, not the recommended three). I discovered they use the less well absorbed version of CoQ10 (ubiquinone) - and I had previously been taking ubiquinol with no side effects - so I deduced the active ingredient sadly just wasn't for me. I took a month's break and sure enough, my luteal phase shortened again. I decided to give these one last shot as I was pretty convinced this was part of our problem - plus, I still hadn't finished the jar and they are expensive. Customer service suggested I only take with food and start off with one a day and build up my tolerance. So that's what I did, supplementing with my ubiquinol separately to get the recommended amount of CoQ10. Again, my luteal phase was lengthened (this time on just one a day) and that month I got my long awaited BFP after 18 months of trying at age 40! I'm still in shock and don't know if this is a coincidence (we also tried SMEP that month) but it definitely helped! Worth a shot.
