Monel Rotors Bb/F 4 Keys Double French Horn w/Case & Mouthpiece-Gold Lacquer Finish

I was really hoping I would get one of the good ones (some people seemed to get a good one from the reviews at least!), but alas, no. This is not a working double french horn. The F side of the horn sounded "tinny" and very hard to hit any note at all, like something was in the way or not connected right. In order to get a true horn sound, you are forced to put down the trigger. Then you can play all the notes and they sound fine. The trigger is moveable so that was oddly wiggly upon arrival, but seemed to tighten ok. If you want a Bb horn only, this could work for you, but it's awfully heavy if you are only using it as a Bb horn. Sadly, this horn arrived today and is going back today. Was really hoping to get a good horn for a reasonable price, but in this case, it wasn't even a "get what you pay for" situation, but just junk.

My daughter is the envy of her classmates because they love her French horn. She started out using it at home but she loves it so much she's willing to carry it to school for the better sound. Definitely a great investment for kids in band.

I like this horn. You have to be careful when installing the bell because its easy to cross-thread it. It takes a few tries to make certain its right before you screw it in all the way. If you feel any resistance at all, stop, back it up, and try again. If you have it right, it should turn into place effortlessly in the sense that you just need give it a quick spin, and it will continue to turn by itself around at least once. If it doesn't do that, you've got it wrong and are going to wreck it if you keep it up.

The horn was purchased for my 80yr. Old husband who hadn't played the French horn since his college days. Suddenly he had a yen to see if he still had a "lip ". He's doing his best to practice every day and master the challenge. Good for his lungs and good to see him interested in something again. Thank you , M Cameron

My daughter has been playing French Horn since 3rd grade, and for us to get her one of her own now that she is 19 was an amazing surprise! She likes the feel of the horn, the mouthpiece is "wider" which is better according to her. She is very happy with the horn and case. Very high quality instrument with-out the typical cost! Great job on this one guys!

Just how the title describes my 5th grader experience with this instrument. We bought this last year (November 2016) and the day we got it, one problem after another: jamming keys, stuck valves, ...etc.Tried different music repair shops and no one was able to fix or replace the jamming keys. My son is so frustrated that he has been borrowing an old french horn from his music teacher.Would never recommend this piece of junk for anyone. You really get what you pay for with this instrument.

I bought this for my daughter to use in her high school band class. The valves stick. Oiling it doesn't help. When we took it in to be serviced at the local instrument store, they said that it was cheaply made and that the sizes of the parts are not standard, so there is no good way to fix it. He recommended returning it, but it is past the 30 day return window, so we are stuck. I really wish we hadn't purchased this instrument. It is unplayable and it was a bunch of money wasted.

Due to a shipping accident, the first horn we received was damaged and we were very pleased how Mito Music stood behind their product and furnished us with a new one which is perfect in every way. It was a very good buy also. I also commend Mito on their patience as we were delayed in returning the first instrument, for which I apologize.
