[Intel Certified] Cable Matters 40Gbps Active Thunderbolt 4 Cable, 6.6ft

I bought an external drive capable of 2000 MB/s transfer speed through a USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port. I bought a PCIe card that added 1 USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port to my PC. This PCIe card requires a PCIe slot of Gen 3 or higher with a width of X4 lanes or higher. The cable that came with the new drive was about 6 inches long. 2000 MB/s was confirmed with crystal disk mark bench mark. I tried a regular high quality 6.6 ft USB C ram pow cable which is capable of Super Fast Charging on my Samsung Fold 3, but only was able to hit about 400-500 MB/s. I googled best USB C cable because amazon reviews for that ram pow cable were in the many tens of thousands range and that review score failed me in realm of external data transfer speed. This Cable Matters Intel Certified Active cable showed up as one of the best possible cables for any USB C, USB4 or TB4 device. It did not say USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 but I did not trust the other cables that did say that. This 6.6 ft cable is the REAL DEAL. 6.6 ft of glorious power and blazing transfer speed of 2066 MB/s externally! BUY THIS CABLE if you actually care about real maximum data transfer speeds. If you are one of those people that buy something that says 2000 MB/s and you never bother to run a benchmark, then go get a cheaper cable.

I have a 32-inch 4k 144hz monitor and needed a way to carry that data from my M1 Max Macbook Pro 16. This cable does that, and it also carries the USB data from the monitor's built-in USB hub as well as charges the laptop with 18w (the max the monitor provides). I have also tested its thunderbolt capabilities and it works flawlessly for data transfer as well. If you have this use case and are okay with 3 ft or shorter, do not buy this cable, USB 4 cables can do the same thing over that distance. When I bought this, there was no 6 ft USB 4 cable on the market that could handle 4k 144hz. This cable, while expensive, works flawlessly. I have also used it for high-speed data transfer between devices and it is a lifesaver for that as well. It also works over windows and works with g-sync at the same time. High price aside (which is just how much thunderbolt cables cost), this cable is fantastic.

I ordered this cable for the purpose of connecting my 2020 M1 Mac mini to the CalDigit USB4 Element Hub. While I'm waiting for that to arrive, I decided to use this 2m cable with my 2017 MacBook Retina. As many will know, this laptop only has a single USB 3.1 gen 1 port @ 5Gbps. And previously, Thunderbolt cables >.8m in length could only support USB 2.0 aka 480Mbps. I connected my ACASIS Thunderbolt enclosure with a 1TB WD Black SN750 inside. Incredibly, this combo reached >400MB/s with the Cable Matters TB4 cable, which is much more than the ~400Mbps USB 2.0 speeds one might expect. And yes, I was running the test on the external drive, not the internal SSD, which gives 2X that Write speed :) My tests done on actual Thunderbolt devices indicate this cable functions at full rated throughput. Workmanship appears fine, nothing fancy. It's a standard black rubber-like cable with TB4 certified logos on each connector end (not seen in photo).

I wish this cable did not cost so much, but after trying multiple options, this is the first longer cable that actually handled my setup properly. I am running dual 4K monitors in a daisy chain, and the included 3 foot Thunderbolt cable worked fine. The problem started when I needed something longer. I tried a few extended length cables from other brands and none of them could reliably support the bandwidth. It seems once you go past 3 feet, you really do need an active cable to maintain full performance. This one does exactly what it claims. My dual 4K displays run properly without flickering or dropping resolution, and I do not have to constantly troubleshoot or swap cables. That alone made it worth it for me. I do lose a bit on charging speed compared to shorter cables, but it is still functional for power delivery. More importantly, I can easily move the cable between laptops without reworking my desk setup every time. It is expensive, but if you need a longer Thunderbolt cable that truly supports high bandwidth displays, this one actually delivers.

Updating my review; customer service sent me a replacement cable after I contacted them free of charge. —- The cable originally worked great and seemed sturdy relative to other USB-C cables I've owned. However, after less than three months, the cable failed and no longer charges my computer. The cable has no visible damage, so I can't figure out why it is no longer functioning, but back to an old (much thinner) USB-C cable that is doing just fine and costs a fraction of the price. I reached out to seller to see what support they can provide; will update here when they respond back to me.

Not sure why there isn't more information about this online but here it is now. The Logitech Logi Dock is a great all in one dock for small conferencing. We are using it for a couple of conference rooms at the moment. Only issue it the original dock comes with a wimpy 3ft cable. Turns out the necessary cable is NOT proprietary to Logitech, you just need a Thunderbolt 4 with 40GBps and 100W charging. This one is working perfectly fine for our needs. The end.

Finally a cable that does what it says. TB4 actually active. Went through several cables that “should” have supported 2 monitors on the TB dock.

Perfect for running my Docking station, hooked up to M17 R3 laptop. Purchased a few others from Amazon, none of them had enough power to juice up the docking station.....Ended up doing more research.... and few hours later... vula... found this little gem. Would certainly recommend it

Utiliser pour chaîner un macbook pro à des cartes Universal Audio. Aucun problème de connexion, ni débit, ni plantage. Le câble semble de bonne facture et fonctionne parfaitement avec du matériel sous Thunderbolt 3. Je recommande donc sans hésiter.

M4 MacbookAir とVAパネルモニターの相性が悪い（縦縞ノイズ）購入しました。（２ｍ） 以前は相性が悪くて（JapanNext JN-V315UHDRC60W と 安物のThunderBolt4ケーブル）縦縞ノイズの発生が酷くType-C コネクタを抜き差しばかりしていましたが、今回はまるでノイズ無しで安定しています。（モニターもJapanNext JN-V315U2-C6に買い替えたのですが。眼疲労のためVAパネルにこだわっています） 評価に太いいうこと多かったので取り回しが悪いかと思っていましたが、意外と柔らかくしなやかなのでモニターアームに内蔵した取り回しも楽でした。 値段が高いケーブルだと思ってましたが、実際使ってみて損した気がないです！

Cable de buena calidad, me ha funcionado perfectamente para conectar un MacBook Pro M5 Pro y un PC a unoniyor LG Ultrafine 5K sin ningún problema. La imagen se ve perfecta y ambos equipos lo han reconocido sin problema, dando además alimentación al Mac para poder prescindir del cargador.

Update 1 Woche nach Nutzung: Ich muss meine Bewertung nach oben korrigieren, da hier mein Kabeltester wohl Schwächen hat. Ich habe das Kabel dennoch an meinem eGPU getestet und es erfüllt alle specs und schafft mit meinem TH3P4G3 (Performance Screenshot angehängt. ------------------------- Ursprüngliche Rezension: Laut meinem USB Kabeltester handelt es sich bei diesem Kabel nicht um ein TB4 Kabel. Interessant ist, dass ein TB5 Kabel, dass ich von der gleichen Marke gekauft habe, richtig als TB5 Kabel erkannt wird.

Ho acquistato questa scheda ASUS ThunderboltEX 4 per aggiungere il supporto Thunderbolt alla mia workstation Windows e utilizzare una Universal Audio Apollo Twin X. Per chi lavora in ambito audio professionale sa bene che la compatibilità Thunderbolt su PC può essere un argomento delicato e spesso fonte di problemi. Nel mio caso, dopo la corretta installazione e configurazione della piattaforma, la scheda si è comportata in maniera affidabile e mi ha permesso di utilizzare la Apollo Twin X sul PC senza dover ricorrere a soluzioni alternative. Una volta configurata correttamente, la connessione si è dimostrata stabile e adatta a un utilizzo quotidiano in registrazione, mixaggio e produzione musicale. Per me era un componente fondamentale della workstation e ha svolto il suo compito esattamente come speravo. Punti di forza soluzione efficace per aggiungere Thunderbolt 4 a sistemi compatibili; ottima integrazione con la mia configurazione Windows; funzionamento stabile con Universal Audio Apollo Twin X; qualità costruttiva elevata; ideale per workstation audio professionali. Aspetti da considerare Prima dell'acquisto è fondamentale verificare attentamente la compatibilità della propria scheda madre. La riuscita dell'installazione dipende molto dalla piattaforma utilizzata e dalla corretta configurazione del supporto Thunderbolt nel BIOS.
