you get that much more cool music. I actually held off on purchasing
After hearing the "teaser" or single tracks, I couldn't wait for this album. "Baby Don't Take the Fun" set the bar high, and I needed this album to provide that same feel-good groove. It didn't let me down, and since it consists of all new tracks, you get that much more cool music. I actually held off on purchasing, but still streamed the tracks online. It's one of those albums that just makes the workday go by a bit quicker. I felt like a crook not putting money down, so I finally made the contribution. Bom Bom Fiya has to be my FAVORITE, but at just over 2 minutes, it definitely makes you hit repeat a few times. That's easily followed by "Bouillon," but in all honesty all of them will get you nodding. Finally, who else is throwing in acapellas and clean versions for free? Slimkid3 and Nu-Mark definitely delivered.

Slimkid3 and DJ Numark hit it out of the park! I love this record!
What if The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5 had a baby- what would it sound like? Slimkid3(of the Pharcyde) and DJ Numark (of Jurassic 5) answer that question with this beautiful album filled with the soul that's missing in the majority of today's hip hop. Not a bad track on the record. Fantastic. I love this record.PS. I refuse to write formally of the Pharcyde because the Pharcyde were four people. Imani and Booty Brown calling themselves the Pharcyde now is like Ringo and George touring as The Beatles. Ridiculous.

Fellow Pharcyde fans will enjoy this...
Those of us who loved the Pharcyde will always be looking for a taste of their sound. This album provides a chill laid back approach to hip hop that has elements of the old Pharcyde in it. I like Slimkid3's voice/delivery on this album. Nothing ground breaking but enjoyable, hence the 3 star review.

Grab it, if you like real soulful and funky Hiphop.
A very good album. Just a solid soulful work from Jurassic 5's finest. Some party joints, some thought provoking joints - you have 'em all.Lovely bonus - vinyl with instrumentals.

Positive Hip Hop - Old School for a New Age
This has got to be the most underated, slept on album I've heard in awhile. It is absolutely awesome. Everyone reading this review should take buying this album into serious consideration.Without going into history of the artists, they sound like they were born to work together on this project, and I can only hope they do more work together. The whole album has a very positive sound to it, and keeps me nodding my head with a grin on my face. Nu Mark's beats are unique and energetic, and Slimkid3's rhymes are honest and uplifting, dealing with subject matter anyone can relate to. And while I get "old school" nostalgia from the album, don't get me wrong, it all feels shiny and new.I suppose my only complaint would be that there are only 10 tracks, but it came with a 2nd CD with acapellas, instrumentals, and clean versions so I certainly feel like I got my money's worth. I was especially surprised to see the clean versions- my wife is absolutely stoked to have a hip hop cd she can bang with our young daughter in the car. That wouldn't have mattered to me years ago but for a parent it was a really solid bonus. If you are on the fence about this album, go listen to "Let me Hit" and "King ft. Diamond D & K-Natural."Excellent work. Let's hope this album garners more attention. It deserves it.

4.5 Stars
This is one of those collaborations that should have you sold just from hearing the names (Jurassic 5's producer and arguably the best MC from The Pharcyde.) I can always count on Nu-Mark to provide some amazingly unique beats and Tre Hardson (Slimkid3) absolutely kills it. His style and flow is so dope, at times he's both singing and rapping at the same time, most notably in "I Know, Didn't I", sampling Bay Area singing legend Darondo. In "Fade to Black", J-Live lays down a phenomenal verse that would outshine most, but then Tre comes in and absolutely destroys the track. This album may be short but is certainly worth your time and money. Give it a listen
