Not as sharp as I wanted it to be in comparison to one I had before. It’s definitely not perfect as it doesn’t cut all the way through the apple, so you end up pulling or pushing the bottom part of the core through the cutter.

I have a lot of cooking apples this year so peel them then use this gadget to core and slice then. Most of the time it works well but the core is inevitably too big for small apples, not a problem, but too small for big apples so need a knife to remove the last bits. The other slight problem is that it does not quite slice through when cutting down to a flat surface but it is not difficult to remove the slices. It is sometimes difficult to aim the device to slice down the core and it can "spit" apple juice at you. That said it radically speeds up processing cooking apples if you want to stew them. You can use it for eating apples too, without peeling of course.

actually never used on until recently. have always used a knife to cut up apples, but this thing is fast and sharp so it doesnt bruise the fruit. easy to hold and works great. can do apples and pears really quickly. time saving. washes under the tap. very happy with this purchase.

I bought this on the basis of good review but you can get cheaper that probably do just as good a job. The grip on the handles are good and sturdy. I cut my apples on a chopping board as you need a flat surface. What I’m not too keen on is that it doesn’t cut through the apple all the way, I often have to carefully push them through at the bottom which I’m not keen on. The blades are quite sharp and I worry about cutting myself. Also the blades are almost u shaped so they are fixed to the circular bit in the middle, this means Apple gets caught under the joins and can be a bit difficult to clean. But it does a job so I’m overall happy with it.

Ingenious and works superbly and is safe.Very labour saving and time saving, as I like to eat apples and pears cut into segments (with a small piece of cheese) rather than by biting into the whole fruit.Use this virtually every day since we have had it; don't know how we managed without it - no more cutting up apples and pears with a sharp knife!!!Oh yes, it does also effectively core the fruits!

I bought this as a colleague uses one and was showing it off in a Teams meeting (this wouldn't have happened if we were all stuck in the office!) I don't think this is the exact model my colleague has. But it does the job. I have to press down quite hard to do it though. Although I can't see how else it could be. I'd worry about letting a child do it. One slip and it could be quite nasty. I'd treat this with the same respect that you'd treat a knife. More even. Another review said that it didn't quite slice all the way through - and this is true. Although I'm not sure how it could do so. But having not seen another design in action I can't be certain. But the handles are easy to hold and it feels sturdy.

I’m really happy with this, it’s fairly inexpensive and makes quick work of chopping apples. It’s not always perfect but that’s because the apples aren’t always totally straight/flat. Does require a fair bit of force to get through but once you get the hang of it it’s not too bad and the handles are large and easy to hold.

i bought this as we do eat a lot of apples and when you have false teeth its not easy to bite them without damaging your dentures and I'm so glad i did the corer is extremely sturdy with really good grip handles and it slices your apples in not to big slices with the core ready to dispose off in your food caddy and this apple corer is a really great price for the quality i can really recommend it
