String is required in multiple places within the instructions. This question is for those that have built this car. What size string was used?

I've built two of this model--one for a friend--and never needed string.

What rubber bands are used

There are an assortment of rubber bands sizes that come with the kit. The instructions tell you what sizes to use and how to shrink them down to a very specific length. The rubber bands that drive the engine and make the car move are much wider than the others around 8 to 10 millimeters in width and look very heavy duty.

I do not believe this car is suppose to be any specific Cabriolet (which is French for convertible). it is very complex and took me 60 to 70 hours to put together. It was very fulfilling to complete it with all of the moving and working parts - especially the fact that it runs. This kit is not for children. Instruction details must be followed exactly.

Would like to buy just the tanker is it available.

Your question is a bit vague, does the tanker stand alone or must it be purchased in tandem with something else? Perhaps if that is the case, look for the "tanker" to be offered individually by typing it into the Amazon search box and checking for its availability.
