Really nice item but let down by the cork base and lid-inner being off-centre. It means the lid doesn’t quite sit centred. Otherwise the quality is great, a really nice salt pig. The material the pig is made of is quite porous and takes on stains quite easily - so be careful not to keep it too close to your cooking area as sauce stains will not come out. I learned the hard way!

The media could not be loaded.  So when it comes to cooking, I'm a great believer in having key ingredients such as seasoning close at hand. As such, I had been looking for a salt pig dispenser for some time, but wanted to avoid wood or glass as I was after something a little more earthy and cool.Spent a while scrolling on Amazon and then came across this item from South Wind Home. It didn't have any reviews, so guess it's a new item, but decided to take a chance. Arrived within 24 hours, thanks to Amazon Prime and I have to say, it's really nice - the composite, environmentally friendly material is perfect for the kitchen and complements my granite tops. It's big enough to get a good pinch of salt and feels like a quality item.Being the first reviewer, thought I would take the opportunity to accompany this review with pictures. Overall, great product and it's already replaced by plastic salt tubs! Recommended.

Needed a salt pot after receiving a box of salt from a Finnish friend as a housewarming present. Wanted a decent size to keep by the aga so needed it to look good too. Chose this South Wind Home pot and wasn’t disappointed. It’s such a gorgeous pot in every way. Made from lovely tactile materials, even the cork lid is satisfying. Comes with a pretty finish and has a great contemporary feel. Obviously designed very well as it looks after the salt despite being where all the steam and heat is. Added bonus is the fab packaging it comes with too so makes a great gift. Definitely but it.

Loving my Salt Pig from South Wind Home.I’ve been looking specifically for one with a lid for a while now as I’m not a fan of the open style salt pigs, and this little fellow fits the bill perfectly. I love the ceramic design, It’s really well made, and has a lovely, quality feel to it, also looks great in our kitchen and is now the perfect home for my delicious smoked Cornish Sea Salt. Going to order another one for my parents for Christmas!Never ever thought I’d be writing a review for a salt pig, but there you go, I love it so much, it would be rude not to!

Beautifully packaged salt pot elegant design and an ideal size for table use. Will make an excellent gift but could do with some details of materials used and care instructions.

Very well made good packaging very nice looking item

This was a good gift for my cooking fanatic friend who seemed to already have everything in the kitchen, and then I bought one for myself as well!It's a nice product, it's got a good weight, solid feeling and neutral colour means it will match in with most kitchen surfaces. The cork in the lid should keep moisture from affecting the salt. I like it!

This is a well proportioned salt pot with a close fitting lid and securely packed in a matt black box.We liked the tactile finish and speckled affect of the terrazzo, which is a good contrast to dark surfaces. The base also has a thin cork mat which stops it sliding around the worktop. Overall we're pleased with the purchase.
