Pretty straightforward installation but YouTube is your friend
The product exactly met my expectations and fixed my running toilet. My wife is happy so I am happy.I'm glad I spent some time watching YouTube videos showing exactly what is involved, I like to know exactly how to approach a project before I begin so I don't waste time solving problems others have already solved. That said, when the videos mentioned that getting the thing to click into place on inside of the tank was a little tough, they understated things considerably. There isn't a whole lot of room in there for big hands and I was unable to get it to click into place until I used a long flat-blade screwdriver as a lever to coerce it into place. Start to finish, including time to utter some cuss words and go to the garage to get that lever was about 15 minutes.

Great replacement
When trying to replace the big washer to stop leaking in my toilet tank, two of the tabs at the base broke. I was concerned about the fit and looked at the photos very carefully. This one fit perfectly in my KOHLER toilet tank.

When installing, be patient
Product is certainly as described as is everything from Koehler! Installing the part in the tank of the toilet is a real bear! Clips that hold part in are difficult to snap!!

works as described for our low-profile kohler one-piece
the seal on the flush valve for our kohler one-piece low-profile san raphael toilet (k-3466) wore out and it seemed the tank hadn't been cleaned in a while, so rather than replacing just the seal we decided to clean out and flush the entire tank with a citric acid solution, then replace all of the tank components including the flush valve that we purchased from here. it is solid and well-built, we have no reason to suspect that it is some cheaply-made knockoff rather than an OEM part..some people have mentioned that they've experienced issues with getting the valve to clamp onto the tank given the rigidity of the new seal.. i personally didn't have any issues, but others have had luck with soaking the seal by itself in warm water, then quickly compressing it using clamps (between two blocks, or books for example) and placing it into the freezer for 24hrs. what this allows you to do is keep the seal compressed so that you can place it back onto the flush valve and clamp it onto the tank without any resistance.. but act fast once you take the compressed seal out of the freezer, because it will revert back to its normal shape very quickly to ensure a proper seal. good luck!

FINALLY!!!!
I had an annoying "phantom flush" coming from my Kohler San Raphael for longer than I care to admit. The fill valve was replaced. TWICE. Several new flappers, a flush valve repair kit (seal). I FINALLY purchased this flush valve as a last resort. It looked complicated to install, so I had avoided purchasing and attempting the install. Mistake. it took less than 5 minutes to install, I didn't even need to drain the tank! The old one popped right off, and this one popped right on. SILENCE!!!!! People! Even novice plumbers like me can install this! It may be just what you need! Actually, now that I know how easy it is to install a completely new flush valve, I may, in the future, just replace the deteriorating foam gasket which was the culprit all along. How was I to know putting cleaning tabs in the tank would add to the deterioration of the gasket and be the root of the phantom flushing for months?!

It fits. It works. Priced right.
Had it done in a half hour. Look up the part number in the YouTube video and you’ll see that the hardest part is getting the tank emptied. The rest goes by quickly.

Services Rendered...no doubt!
Very satisfied with the Customer Service offered by Kohler through their toll-free number to properly identify the parts required to repair an older model, single piece toilet. The parts came on time and the installation went quite well. It should be noted that there was a fair amount of time required to completely drain the reservoir and clean out all the old debris. Installation did require clever use of a flashlight to confirm the alignment of the flush valve assembly and engage the retention clips. But when all was said and done, the job was done. That said, one may be tempted to merely replace the flapper on an old toilet but if the flapper is going bad, you can bet that the gasket is as well. Don't mess around our you might end up with, well, a mess.
