LG's underrated flagship of 2015
The LG V10 was LG's flagship device of last year which in my opinion was extremely underrated at the time of release. Sporting a Snapdragon 808 processor, four gigabytes or ram, a large 5.7" QHD display with a smaller secondary display, and of course two front-facing cameras, and a 16 mega-pixel back camera with an F1.8 aperture and you're left with a very impressive device to say the least. LG opted for the Snapdragon 808 processor due to Qualcomms latest SOC having horrible over-heating problems at the time in most devices that it was used in. While not the latest and greatest processor available at the time, the Snapdragon 808 is no slouch even to this day. That paired with the four gigabytes of ram leave you with zero lag in almost any task I have put this thing through. Even heavy gaming with some modern Android games still look and play flawlessly with little to no problems in frame rate and graphical prowess. The four gigabytes of ram lets you multi-task with ease to your hearts content, but it does also help with the second screen I mentioned earlier in the review. The second screen is a small two inch long display on top of your main display which gives you access to things like your notifications, and some quick toggles for things like Wi-Fi and the flashlight even when your device's main screen is off! It is very hard to convey how useful this second screen is but trust me, once you get used to it you'll find it difficult to go without it. LG says that if you leave the secondary display on all day, you'll lose just a few percentage of your battery and I personally think it is well worth it due to the additional functionality that it provides. The main display of the phone is 5.7" with a QHD resolution and LG's Quantum Display technology. While the term does sound like a marketing gimmick, the display is indeed very nice to use. Outdoor visibility is excellent on both of the displays, and colors look life like but vibrant at the same time. The display is not AMOLED which is what a lot of people prefer, but do not let that sway your purchasing decision if you're in the market for a phone because this display is equally good from what I've seen so far. Viewing angles, contrast, brightness, and even the black levels are all excellent and you will not have any problems using this device for things like multi-media or games. The cameras on the front of the device (and yes I did say cameras) are both five mega-pixels, one has a very wide viewing angle which you can switch between for things like selfies. This works great and does in fact give a very wide shot. The back camera is to me one of the bigger selling points of this phone for one simple reason which is the manual controls. Sure you can take some fast shots and you'll get impressive results, but you can also turn on manual mode which lets you tweak every setting of the camera to adjust for white balance, the ISO, shutter speed, and even the manual focus levels. These controls are very impressive and really do make a huge difference in the shots you'll be able to take particularly for late night shots. I was even able to take a few shots of the stars at night when it was pitch dark outside without much experience tweaking all of the controls. The manual controls are not just limited to photos either, you can also use them for filming video as well! You'll even have full access to the microphone levels and a wind-noise filter. There are plenty of other features of this phone such as the DAC which makes for an incredible music listening experience, the removable battery, the SD card slot, and a lot of other note worthy features but for the sake of time I am going to not be adding all of that to this review. If you want to know anything else about this device or using it in 2016 then feel free to ask and I'd be happy to help to the best of my abilities. Even with the LG V20 coming out, if you need a new device then this is very hard to beat especially with the price these are currently selling for. The performance, and features still hold up today and I would highly suggest giving it a shot if you're on the fence about this device.

Best Phone, Best Value!
The LG V10 exceeds my expectations! I had read all these reviews complaining about the battery and playing down some of its better qualities; I seriously considered the Samsung Galaxy Note 7... But when they announced the features and the *gasp* price!!! There's no WAY I'm spending $850 for a relatively modest upgrade with no way to change out a battery that you KNOW will eventually become useless! So, in the end, the 64 gigabytes of internal storage, the micro SD card slot to increase that capacity, the excellent quality camera for both stills and videos, as well as the much more reasonable price of the LG V10 won me over! And now that I've used it for several days, I'm even more impressed with its multitude of useful features - the multiple ways of opening the phone, the speed of the programs, the outstanding photo editing, the quick access to a manual note app - all are really impressing me! And even though I was initially hesitant about getting a large phablet, I'm really finding myself loving it! I don't try to keep it in my pocket; instead I carry it in a very small crossbody bag. Oh, and incidentally, I got this as a factory refurbished model and I paid only $300! It has an admittedly brief warranty, so if this ends up disappointing me, I'll come back to add to this review.

#1 Worst Battery Life for Android Phones
Amazing phone, only at first! Battery life MAX with regular use, about 5 hours! From 100% to 0%. Regularly would turn off at around 15-20% percent and notify phone is at 0% please charge more to turn on. I purchased 2 phones, one for myself, one for my boyfriend. Both were having same problems, plus some. Do not recommend. I even purchased extra batteries including charging docks. Too much of an inconvenience for anyone, to be honest.

Lg v10
The price of this device has dropped substantially since launch. Originally I would have never even thought of recommending this glorified g4, but now at the lowered price it is the perfect utilitarian phone.Display:The display is vibrant, brighter than most amoled panels, and gets darker than any other LCD. The black levels are better than most LCDs but not great compared to an amoled. The secondary display produces noticeable blacklight bleeding which is a bummer but liveable. My unit had a very accurate white balance unlike most that have a noticeable blue tint, I don't know if it is just my unit or if lg updated the display calibration with marshmallow.Performance and ui:Performance is great, lg's user interface was once known to stutter like touchwiz, but now it performs just like you would expect from any proper flagship. I never experience dropped frames and the whole UI is always running at a stable 60 fps. The fingerprint scanner is fast, but the first try fails pretty often. The ram management is good but the android system itself consumes more ram than a nexus due to the heavy skin.Camera:The great manual features really show that lg has matured and is starting to implement their own unique features. It records 4k at a bitrate higher than any other phone at the moment and the automatic mode does an amazing job of showing accurate colors, even when recording under artificial light. One area that can improve is low light performance.Audio:The lg v10 is a huge step up from the g4 in terms of audio quality. The separate ess sabre DAC chip and opamp show big changes from the g4's mediocre audio quality. The amp is powerful enough to drive even the most demanding headphones like the akg q701 easily, and the DAC removes some of the hissing commonly produced by integrated snapdragon DACs while making the music sound a bit fuller in tone. Even though the speaker is only a mono bottom facing speaker, it is pretty decent sounding and incredibly loud. Makes my HTC one m8 speakers sound quiet in comparison.Battery life:The only area that prevents this phone from being perfect in my opinion. I get around 3 and a half hours of screen on time with heavy use, 4 hours max. This is not a problem if you have a spare battery but it still is not an excuse for why the much larger lg v10 has the same battery capacity as the lg g4, lg g3, and the lg g2
