I bought these 9 months ago. The can tap with adapter is a key item if trying to connect your manifold gauge set to a car's AC lines and r134a can. The adapters and valve tool were what I needed at the time, though, if I remember right. I was installing a mini-split AC and pulling a vacuum was annoying because I didn't realize that you need a pin for BOTH the adapter and the hose but once I got past that, it was easy! Ran into the same issue with a self-sealing can on a car's AC tonight, and couldn't find the adapter. Sigh, might need to look harder or reorder just the flare/acme adapter.These are simple but precise tools, and they work well. You might want to buy one of the sets with Schrader valves+acme caps and valve remover tool with side-access valve as well. The kind with a really long valve-screwdriver that lets you avoid leakage.

This R134A refrigerant can taps and accessories kit is an excellent value at $12. You get a R134A can tap for older puncture style cans and one for the newer self-sealing cans, plus two adapters. one for vacuum pump 1/4 Flare to 1/2 Male and one tank Adapter 1/2 Female to 1/4 Male Flare and a valve core tool. You also use the adapters to connect the can tap to the yellow charge hose if needed. Very handy tool if you are using the small cans of refrigerant.J.R , ASE Master Automobile Technician
